What was the biggest Sacramento area sports story of 2005?
Kings trade superstar Chris Webber to the Philadelphia 76ers: 59%
Monarchs win WNBA Championship in four games over the Connecticut Sun: 28%
UC Davis football team upsets Stanford: 6%
LPGA tournament leaves Sacramento area after a 10-year run: 1%
The ongoing pursuit to replace Arco Arena: 5%
The River Cats host baseball's Triple-A All-Star Game in July: 1%
I dunno bout you ladies and gents... but i cant believe Webber being traded was bigger than the Monarchs winning the title. I mean, sure, the Webber trade greatly reduced the kings chances of winning a title anytime soon. But the Monarchs fought hard and brought a title to Sacramento before the Kings did. I like the Monarchs and wish they got more respect. Maybe its because im not a Kings fan and thats why i dont think the Webber trade is bigger than the Monarchs winning a championship.
