Hedo for Artest...

If that's the best the NBA market has to offer, GO FOR IT. It's time to cut the cord and begin rebuilding. I'm not interested in waiting for a year to HOPE that Artest's value will go up. That's all waiting would be for - HOPE. And one more "incident" and his marginal value goes to ZERO. And in the meantime he's a cancer in the lockeroom and could easily undermine Theus's authority. Forget about the wishful thinking. Consult all NBA teams, take the best deal. PERIOD. Cut the loss. NOW.

artest still has value.. and getting hedo in return is foolish. hedo is one of those swingmen you could pick up in the mid-late draft. he doesn't possess any strong traits that make him a elite talent.. he also has quite a few years left on his contract whereas artest only has 2.. he can opt out at the end of this year also which is a good thing. artest can be moved to the right team like new york, LA, miami who have strong veteran leadership that might be able to control his personality. i'm all for moving players to get shorter contracts, younger players and draft picks.. this move accomplishes none of that.

There's nothing wrong wiht Hedo as a player -- he's still a useful, versatile guy. That's not the issue. Its return, age, and contract size. In a different universe, with the Kings contending and having a need for a swingman type, I would be arguing FOR pickign up Hedo. This isn't that universe, and everything that he is is everything that we do NOT need at this point in time.

good point. and also as vf21 remarked a few times here, he has some mysterious sickness from which he cannot seem to heal. i feel for hedo; he will become second fiddle to lewis if he stays, or he will be dealt to a team which is never a good thing. the magic, to me it seems, keep making moves for their fan base: the donovan fiasco, going after an overrated sf when their pressing needs were pg and sg, etc.
