Our first game of the year may not have garnered us a win but it did show potential and lots of room for improvement. I was a little disappointed, of course, that we didn't get the buzzer-beater for the win but I certainly will confess to being entertained the whole game.
We have hope, fellow Kings fans. We have players who are exciting to watch and bring energy to the court. We have players whose heart and hustle and desire to win are obvious, especially since News10 twice didn't cut away quite quickly enough for reactions from Kevin and Spencer.
Are we headed for the playoffs? Probably not unless a lot of teams in the West have problems. Is it going to ruin it for me if we don't make the playoffs? Not if we can see games like last night's.
There's a spirit already growing within our team, a spark that could easily ignite into a fire to get fans back in the seats, standing and cheering for the heart, the hustle, the effort and the excitement.
It's a good time to be a Kings fan. We aren't elite but our team already is on its way to being a TEAM again. That's a good feeling from where I sit...
