Who's heads gonna be rolling?

The Coach: Well, the coach is the usuall scapegote for bad play.

The Players: My personal choice...These guys are clueless.

The GM: This is the master-work of our apparent genius GM? Ew...

Well, I think we have some nice pieces here and there, they just don't match up very well together. I would rather the Maloofs don't fire everyone and start from scratch. If they do be prepared for a very dark period of rebuilding for 4-5 years. The Maloofs simply can't afford to let that happen to this organization at the current time.

I agree with that.

I think all of our starters are excellent second fiddles...Thye need a superstar to fully excentuate their full abilities...

That's just my little theory I have.

Well not just that. We need to make some serious decisions about this team. I think in a lot ways I would love to see our frontline dismantled. We CAN'T have Brad and Shareef out there together. Its almost just as bad as the Webber/Miller combo on defense. No shotblockers. No paint defenders. Thats a big reason we are at the bottom of the league in opponents FG%.

I temporarily joined "Excuse Adelman from this mess" bandwagon (a.k.a. Fire Adelman banndwagon), but I really have to jumo off here. This is GP/Maloofs mess:

1. I think that essentially, Maloofs are more palatable version of Cuban. Fantasy Basketball team owners. They were going to cut Chris' grass in 2001, gave him huge contract and then tried to get away from paying up at any "cost".

2. GP made two mistakes: Allowed Maloofs to set market for Webber in a very public and Vegas showy way, then traded him for essentially same amount of cash and zero help.

We can't fire Maloofs. If Maloofs fire GP, RA is as good as gone. Meanwhile we're still stuck with bunch of complimentary pieces and no bench. Clearly, the only proper thing to do is to have a fire-sale. Any player can and should be traded if the offer is right. Full on rebuilding. RA's contract expires at the end of the year, so if he doesn't want to go through the painfull process of rebuilding he can become FA himself.

The Maloofs ain't gonna fire Geoff Petrie. Whatever happens, right or wrong, Rick will get the blame. The Maloofs have already said that they gave Rick, and I quote from an interview on KHTK, "the players he wanted."

I really don't know how firing anybody is going to help much, at least not this season. On the othre hand, I'm finally of the mind that we should consider trading any players on our team that might help. Yep, full rebuilding mode. Not a single one or combination of our players is something to build around. We have to have at least one truly great player.

Having said that, it ain't going to happen overnight. Full rebuilding means sitting tight and being patient 2, 3, 4 years? Who knows. But I think I'm ready to see it begin now.

I'm ready for a rebuild.

We were blessed with some of the best basketball in the NBA for 4/5 years, and now it's time to start all over again!

I'd rather start rebuilding to something potentially great, than to see a mediocre team who might make ther playoffs...IMO.

They were talking about Bonzi and SAR. The bench is something Adelman had no say in whatsoever. AFTER the trade and the draft, Adelman was supposedly consulted and said of everyone he thought we might get, he thought Bonzi and SAR were about the best available.

Rick will take the blame. Not that he should, but he will.

Might not be the end of the world either. I hear too many "I don't know's" from him these days, it just seems like the team isn't listening to him anymore.

I shudder at the thought of who he might be replaced with though...

And I really hope the Maloofs don't dump Petrie. In hindsight, some of his decisions may not have been that solid, but he's still a great GM and I believe he can get us out of this mess.

Players never seem to be affected by stuff like this. They will probably all get off scot-free. There aren't really any realistic trades we can do to drastically improve ourselves anyways... so we're probably stuck with this group for the rest of the year.

Kind of bleak.

The Maloofs are not happy. They made that clear on TNT tonight. I think there will be changes soon. Very soon. I'm thinking the coach. I hope we make some smart trades though....our bench sucks!!

I just can't believe that Adelman asked for that bench squad.

It sure looked like cost-cutting measures to me.

Adelman will get the blame. It's wrong, and the next coach will be a down-grade.

Well when a franchise tries to take a new identity what usually changes first?

Your answer! THE COACH. After all the crap in the summer the Maloofs should never have left Adelman as the coach. That was a waste of time to begin with. That had "bad vibes" written all over it.

You can get new players but this team is trying to have the same identity as the old team. News flash! It ain't working.

I don't know how Petrie fell in love with these same type of players. In our best season, we were a very good offensive team but we were also second in the opponents' field goal percentage. I think we miss Vlade the most. He might be unathletic but he was tall and he filled the lane well. Also he was the true leader of this team, and we really miss that. Miller is undersized and he doesn't intimidate anyone. His best time in Sacramento was when he was playing PF alongside Vlade when Webber was injured. Ayway, I put the blame on Petrie because he put this team together, but I think he can turn this around. Because although we don't have a good team, we have good players which can succeed in a different team. If we can trade some of them for somewhat equal value, we can get better easily. All I want to see is a mentally tough team that hustles and rebounds. So, we should trade at least one of Shareef and Brad, and one of Peja and Bibby. I really would like to see a trade like Shareef+ Peja for Deng +Chandler.

I think that just about sums it up. Miller and Peja have pretty much been proven inefficient without Vlade. When Miller was playing alongside Vlade, or vice-versa, he was being called the 2nd best center in the league. He was automatic from anywhere but the 3 point spot on the floor. Peja...well, Peja was 3rd in MVP alongside Vlade. Now he has trouble putting up 10 points a game. This team started to fall apart when Vlade was not resigned, and unless we sign somebody with a good postgame and who can draw some double teams we won't see any improvement. Unfortunately we'll have to trade some of our core players to get back a player of that caliber.

The team avg 103 ppg and 25+ assists as well as playing above .600 ball for pretty much all of last year(until Feb 23rd, we are 23-28 since) and Vlade wasn't there.

At that time we still had Webber and Christie ... and for whatever reason, even when they left the team was still functioning. This is the first time since that horrible trade where can say that this team is truly falling apart.

You call 16-16 and that embarassment against Seattle functioning? I've been trying to tell you guys for months this was what was going to happen and what was happening, but if you can't get it after tonights game I give up Bro. Kings are dead last in the Pacific now, what is it going to take for you see?

That's .5 basketball. The Seattle series was a tough one, but it was far from where the Kings are now.

See what ? I'm fully aware that the Kings are playing horrible basketball, and that changes are needed ASAP.

They are handcuffed with worse contracts than when Webber was here! The players we got suck! When we traded Webb we seriously screwed up this team... that's what I want you to see, it's so obvious it was a mistake.

I said that from the day that Webber was traded. The trade was garbage, don't need to be a genius to figure that one out.
