Please can anyone tell me why HB would opt out of $25 M for this year when he meshed in so nicely the last half of last year. Surely he can’t do better than that per year on the open market. What’s his thought process?

Don't want to bust his hammy laying cheese up on the wheel spring and be left with no pizza dough

Rather than risk injury on the final year of the contract, he prefers to get multiple years. Even at a potentially lower base, there are more dollars overall. Should he opt to leave the Kings, he could maximize his dollars by signing with a team in a state with lower taxation too.
