Greg Ostertag's Trade Ideas

I think it's pretty obvious to all Kings fans, that this team is not working. Whether it's the coaching, the players, a mix of both, who knows, but we all know something needs to get done. So here are a couple of trade ideas I thought of and haven't seen before.

Kings trade:
Brad Miller
Fransisco Garcia

Hornets trade:
Hilton Armstrong
Desmond Mason
1st Round pick

Why for the Kings: Well Brad has been up and down this year..well maybe 25% up and 75% down. His play doesn't seem to fit our system (which is  ). We get a young Center with potential in Armstrong. He's 22, a solid shotblocker and rebounder, with a decent offensive game. Desmond Mason is athletic and an expiring contract.

Why for the Hornets: I think this deal makes them instant playoff contenders (well maybe not this year, but next year for sure). With Paul/Peja/West/Miller and Chandler/Jackson/Butler/Garcia/Pargo off the bench they are a very solid team.

Kings trade:
Ron Artest

Kings get:
James Posey
Dorell Wright

Why for the Kings? Ok, both of the deals are a bit extreme to rebuilding, but that may just be what this team needs (or maybe it's not). The Kings get an expiring in Posey, who is a superb defender, hustle role player guy. Wright has a bunch of potential (and is only 21) and is versatile.

Why for the Heat? If they Heat are winning and with Wade and Shaq on the team, then Artest stays happy.

no way hornets giving up this years lotto pick for Brad. Brad is declining with a hefty contract. with Brad the hornets would have 4 players making $10+mil.

at this point i'd be happy to dump Brad for an expiring and/or mid-late 1st. no team will offer a young talent, exp, and a lotto pick for Brad. addin Garcia wont make a difference either.

We have a better shot of getting the Heat's pick in that second trade than of the first happening. New Orleans really needs a shooting guard more than another big, so if you could find some way of sending Brad to one team, a shooting guard to New Orleans and the expiring to Sac I think it might be more realistic to clear Brad's contract.
