It might have been the optimist in me, but why didn't anyone bring up getting both Iguodala and Granger? Now I know this is almost laughable, but hear me out. If we resign Evans to a 44mil/4 years and backload it as much as possible it will be roughly 9.837 mil for Evans's first year. If the reports are true that we offered a 56mil/4 year deal to Iguodala and we backloaded it as much as possible, it will be roughly 13.089 mil for Iguodala's first year. Right now, the cap won't allow us to make these two deals. We would have to shed salary through trades. We can package Patterson and Fredette and send them off to a contender for a future pick. That brings about 5.679 mil off the books. This along with amnestying Salmons will give us enough room to sign both of these players to the deals that have been realistically throw around in rumors.
The article from the OP said that Indiana was looking to move Granger and Green. If we pull off a Thomas, Thornton, and Hayes for Granger and Green, we would be losing around 3-4 mil in cap space. If we factor in McLemore and McCallums salary we will be sitting at 57.2 mil. Factor in Brooks fee against the cap and we'll be around 57.8 mil. That is still under the cap!
From this point I would look to sign Dalembert to the MLE and resign Aldrich. I wasn't too familiar with his contract before he came to the Kings so it might not have been long enough to where we can go over the cap to sign him. If that's the case, try to sign him for the veteran minimum or another big center to the veteran minimum. If we pull this off, this is what our lineup will look like on the season opener:
PG - Evans/McCallum
SG - Iguodala/McLemore
SF - Granger/Green/Outlaw
PF - Dalembert/Thompson
C - Cousins/Aldrich
That looks like a great Kings team to me!

Again, it's probably not likely that our FO is leaning towards this route.
