Pick has nothing to do with Bonzi. 2 different kind of players and no great relationship there. Bonzi is an important player to us.
QD can become a terrific combo guard. Lots of guys that can handle and make plays. Lots of combos to play. Has a more complete game than most. Late to the game with lots of upside.
Wasn't commited to him exclusively - one of 3 or 4 they were looking at. Best overall talent available. Once you get that far in the draft, smaller guys best chance to get a good player.
As pick gets closer you recanvas the players left and get a final opinion and vote on who to pick.
Doesn't think shot selection criticism is valid - look at shooting %s he's had, especially as the best player carrying the team. Has ability to make runners and tough shots in traffic. Has a knack for doing that.
#1 priority for other teams to stop and was still successful and played off the ball for that reason. Nobody really shut him down. Still a developing player.
Hopes to see him grow more. Talked with lots of coaches about him and they think he's a superior talent and the NBA is a talent league.
He'll get in the weight room. Some other "freakishly" thin guys are very successful in the league including Kevin, Rip, etc.
Shoots long, short, runners, going left and right, lots of talent.
That's it for the interview.
