Goran Dragic informed the Suns he will NOT resign this offseason.

If they are asking for BMac, I turn the page on this one. Not worth the risk.

When did Dragic become the second coming of Steve Nash?

Ty Lawson is under contract and younger and more assists. He would be a great pick and roll PG for DMC.

I would rather go after a sure thing in Lawson than a possible rental in Dragic

This +1000.

But I guess we're going hard after Dragic. He must be more "Golden Statey" than Ty?

In PDA I dont trust.

Certain players hit their prime at different ages. He's only a few months older than Rudy, and I think everyone believes Rudy is a good player.

Rudy's had a ton a pretty good years to this point. Dragic has 1 or 2. Furthermore, the Kings traded for Rudy Gay well over a year ago when he was 2 years younger than Dragic would be when he'd first play for whatever team he ends up on.

He's a ball dominant guard? You know he played off the ball right next to Bledsoe right? I don't believe he's that much of a ball dominant PG.

Have you watched him play over the years? Do you understand what you're watching? If the answer to both questions is yes, you wouldn't be contesting.

Yes, we all know he's played off the ball next to Bledsoe. If things went so well, we wouldn't be having this discussion because all would be well in Phoenix. Lastly, when you shoot and score a lot more than you assist as a PG, that's known as ball dominant.

While I'm not sure how much he's an upgrade on defense, if any, he's a huge upgrade on offense. We need a real PG who can play with Cuz.

He'd be a definite downgrade on the defensive end.

This team was winning when it played defense early in the season. They don't need an upgrade on offense. They have enough players that can score the ball. They need defense and better ball movement.

Collison is more of a real PG than Dragic. Neither are pure PG's, but Collison plays better defense (when fully healthy) and, over the course of his career, doesn't average double-digit shot attempts like Dragic does. Collison has averaged about the same amount of assists as a backup PG as Dragic has as a starter. There's good reason for that. He's a bit better at getting his teammates involved.

Dragic is not an ISO player.

Yes, he is. And largely a pick and roll PG too.

If they were planning to use him as a SG, I'd agree that his shooting ability and movement without the ball would be beneficial. But his defense is still too woeful to play that position for 30+ minutes per night.

Lowry would have been an upgrade. Dragic is not.

Dragic is an a-hole.

Just another big ego NBA star that wants attention in a big market and thinks playing in a big market automatically correlates to success.

I'm THRILLED. Don't even want Dragic. He seems to have some serious divisive issues, terrible on chemistry, and simply not worth giving up so much for such a risk.

See ya, ya drama queen Dragic. Why would you get a max deal? You're 29 who has turned in 2 good season. You care more about bright lights than winning apparently.

I hope NY gets him. He can be a perennial loser for the last few years of his career with a bunch of other "me firsts" (Carmel0) and enjoy those "Bright Lights."

So in the end, they get two firsts, a washed up Granger, and IT in exchange for, what - a trade exception to the Kings and prima donna Goran? I think PHX landed on its feet kinda. Wouldn't surprise me to see IT and Bledsoe mesh pretty well over there.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. I don't quite know how to put this but...

Stuff just happened

ha ha yeah, um... like Gene Wilder said "strike that - reverse it". PHX blew up the entire roster I guess. Funny stuff

i don't spend a lot of time at other teams' fan forums, but i'm rather tempted to see the reaction that phoenix fans are having to the day's events. instead of either dragic or thomas they ended up with neither dragic nor thomas, though they did manage to land marcus thornton... BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

that said, brandon knight was a nice get for them. i just don't know how this qualifies as anything other than a step back when it comes to their hopes of playoff contention in the near future...

.

Well, the nice kicker to that is they replace a guy on an expiring contract (Dragic) with another guy with an expiring contract (Knight).

Dragic is gonna be an unrestricted FA though meaning he can do whatever he wants while Knight is a restricted FA meaning we can match what he gets.
