go vote for the Kings on the poll at ESPN

The Kings need to go

on a long winning streak like 8-0 before we can seriously think about playoff possibility. There are 37 games left in the season. The Kings will probably need about 44 wins to get the 8th seed. So, 44 - 19 = 25. 25 W and 12L or .676 is what they need.

In any case, going to playoff is not the top priority for this team. I think it is more important to figure out which combination of players play the best together. Those players who aren't essential pieces to the puzzle shall be traded during the off season.

I agree to an extent. Getting this team more fine-tuned for next year and making any additional trades needed should be the #1 priority if this team doesn't really gel soon. If they do gel, then making the playoffs and doing as much damage as possible should be #1. We have always played well against Phoenix, for instance, and could play them tough in a playoff series.

Now maybe we wouldn't get past the second round, but with injuries (see Webber, for instance) you never know what is going to happen.

I would like to reach the playoffs, but in no way am I on that bandwagon yet, as we need to see how these guys do over the next couple weeks first. Then we'll see if the playoffs are attainable.

i would put our chances at high. the rest of the west seems to be just as inconsistant as we are. minnesota, seattle, utah, golden state. yes they have better records than us but after the trade, i think the inconsistancy will ease up for the kings

We are 7 games out of the 8th spot, however, if any of the teams higher than us play above .500 ball, I think its going to take an amazing run to get the 8th spot. Golden State, Minnesota, Utah, Lakers, and NO/OK are fighting for the last 2 spots. Im confident Golden State, and NO/OK are out of the picture. That leaves us fighting with the Lakers, Utah, and Minnesota for the last 2 spots. Seattle might threaten as well. The question is: From this point forward, can we play better than the Lakers, Utah, TPups, and Seattle?

how come the Kings are the only team that doesnt have the majority of its state voting for it? oh thats right...there's 4 teams in CA and a lot of people in CA don't like the Kings

I dont think thats the case, Lakers clearly are the favourites in CA and when you talk about the bay area then they like the warriors or they are indifferent to the kings. I guess that would be the case with the sacramento folks being indifferent to the warriors team and I dont think the state where people are from makes any difference in the teams that they like to hate.

I think it would be good for this team to make the playoffs, even if it is the 8th spot. It gives the young ones (and SAR) some playoff experience and it will be a good measuring stick going against the elite teams, you never know there might even be an upset.
