[News] Giannis “discussing future” with Bucks

Castle or Harper have to be in the deal should be an easy non starter

The scary thing is they can do it and still have all the pieces they need to win for the next 5-6 years. Crap, the West could be a 2 team conference by the deadline. The Thunder still have those picks and Fox/Wemby/Giannis on the same squad? It's over. The funny thing is watch that Kings swap be the cherry on top, lol.

I mean, I think these teams have to start being willing to risk their star asset going to 0 in order to take back some level of control. It's stupid that these "trades" are just essentially extended FA at this point. Giannis being on the block should be the biggest bidding war of all-time, They "should" be getting Chet+2-3 FRP from OKC and they'd pay it because it's Giannis. They "should" be getting Castle AND Harper AND 2-3 FRP and they'd pay it because its Giannis.

But he's got the Bucks by the gonads if he just lets it be known "I'm only signing an extension with NYK". Welp, crap. The team with no future draft capital? With no assets that help you jump-start a massive rebuild?

I think that bridge has been burned
Of course it has. And tbh I don't want to be left holding Fox's contract when everyone else's is off the books.

But I also really thought the Dame bridge was burned up here and they didn't change GMs, coaches, or anyone really. Guy just realized he had a good thing.

I guess the other part of that was Dame was getting divorced and I think he had no clue what he was in for.

lol this is a patently insane thing to say and I freaking love Dylan Harper.

Yeah, I too wouldn't trade Harper for a top 20 player ever, that's currently putting up 30-10-6 and playing at an MVP level to pair him with my other generational big man to create a duo that no one would have a prayer at stopping for the next 5 years

Wait what are we talking about again?

They got away with <insert favorite expletive> us for Fox (and now they are even just retro adding Barnes and the pick to rub it in over on reddit) so they think they can do it again to anyone. While I'd giggle like a child if Fox winds up being the piece I really hope their delusions bite them in the butt. I don't think there has been a "luckier" team in the NBA lottery over the last 40 years, including Charlotte and New Orleans who have been gifted a number of opportunities to be great but never a DRob, Duncan or Wemby.

Without a crystal ball how many years does Giannis realistically have? He's only 30, or is it, he's 30. I don't know. If he has 2 years in the tank, is it a good move if you get prime Giannis for 2 years and then a broken down Cousins/AD type player thereafter?

The wild card in all of that is guys like Wemby may only have 4-5 good years in the league, so maybe you have to.
