Gerald Wallace

For the benefit of people who are not in the local media area I think there is a little more to the situation. After Wallace was taken in the expansion draft by Charlotte Adelman along with Elston Turner spoke on 1140(local Kings station) about Wallace's questionable work habits. Now, if you know Adelman he is not going to dog anyone after their gone(even Jerome James with his ridiculous grabage bag comments).

However, it was clear that the coaching staff did not believe Wallace would put in the required work to get to the next level. Sometimes, a player just needs a change of scenerey or to hear the message from someone new. So, yeah it was a screw up but I think there was a LITTLE more to it than meets the eye.

Gerald Wallace had the potential but he did not have the mindset or drive. Luckily for him, he developed both in Charlotte.

He didn't work out in Sacramento. Sometimes it happens. People really just need to move on about him IMHO.

I wish him all the luck in the world but do NOT think the Kings did the wrong thing in moving him.

Gelald was young, behind a lot of talent and unexperienced. In HS he was an All-American, but he came out after his freshman year and was selected on talent alone. He would have never developed on the Kings not because he's not talented but as I said earlier, we didn't have room to play him on a contender. He was a project like Jermaine O'neal in Portland. I'm glad he's succeeding in Charlotte.
