gerald green and diop headed to dallas

why would they sign gerald green.

You could link to what you are talking about, you know....

Something like this :

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3471169

Pretty difficult, I know, but please make the effort.

Free-agent center DeSagana Diop on Tuesday gave a verbal commitment to sign a new contract to return to Dallas Mavericks, according to NBA front-office sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that Diop, traded by the Mavericks to New Jersey in February as part of the Jason Kidd deal, will receive the Mavericks' full mid-level exception in a five-year deal starting at nearly $6 million.
Diop cannot officially sign and the Mavericks cannot officially comment until July 9, which is the first day NBA teams can announce signings and trades after a league-wide moratorium on roster moves is lifted.
Diop was a key member of the Dallas team that toppled its in-state rivals from San Antonio and reached the 2006 NBA Finals. It was the franchise's first trip beyond the Western Conference finals.

Don't see anything on Green.

Whats with the attidude??? So he did not post a link who really cares?

But to answer your question about Green at least. the Mavs 3 spot is well old to tell the truth, even Josh Howard as talented as he is has lost half a step.

I won't speak for the mods, but from what I know:

Linking avoids that whole "plagiarism" issue. You know, the kind of stuff you got in trouble for in school? You can get in trouble for that outside of school as well. I have friends who operate a different forum, and legal issues could arise. That, and it helps to let others know that you're not just making up stuff.

On Gerald Green:
At least the Mavs will have someone in the dunk contest. I don't know that he's good for much else.

Finally, on Josh Howard:
Lost a step, smoked too many joints...(someone had to say it.) :D

There are some folks who think it is funny to post stuff that isn't true just to get a rise out of everyone and send them scrambling to find out details. Linking shows your source and lets everyone discuss items with full knowledge of what they are talking abut. It is just common curteousy to include links. If it is something on TV or radio, then say so ("Just saw on ESPN", or similar).

Some posters in particular are very lazy about including links, and it gets old after a while. I won't name names, but..... ;)

What i am saying is its not that serious. Nothing posted here actually changes anything ANYWHERE. Its just a bunch of Kings fans getting together to share ideas and discuss current nba news ect ect.

There are a lot of things that are "not that serious", but we try to run a pretty tight ship here is some respects, and it is nothing to ask that if someone posts news to include the link they read it from or where they got the info. We have a pretty knowledable group of fans here, and they all seem to be able to insert a link into a message board post without difficulty.

If you are posting information, link it.

but back on topic, gerald green. hmmm, never really watched the guy. nice dunker. could be a spark if he's used the right way.

Man, that Diop deal makes Beno' contract look like absolute GOLD. I'd be leading the protest outside Petrie's office right now if he signed Diop to that kind of ridiculous contract.

Every year the Mavs try to bring in that one raw athletic lanky swingman they think can spark their team. A couple of years ago that was Marquis Daniels. Rawle Marshall. And now Gerald Green.

I don't think he'll surface with the Mavs. He can develop himself into a JR Smith type player, but Green like Smith is already a headcase and shows no conscience in way of shot selection as well as shows a complete lack of coachability. Always a great thing to take a risk on, but he's still high risk high reward.

How is Gerald Green high-risk when he signed for one year at the minimum salary? He should keep Eddie Jones benched permanently, at least.
