Garcia @ The Point.

Garcia ran the point very good tonight. He brings good length on defense and he can shoot and pass over opposing PGs on offense with his height. 7 dimes and 1 turnover tonight. Hopefully we see more of Cisco at PG, alongside Martin and Salmons , Our perimeter defense should get better with him at the point position as well. I kinda didnt miss Beno tonight.

that would be cool if martin was a better ball handler and passer... the lakers do it all the time with ariza guarding the opposing teams pg but kobe handles the ball on offense. this team just isnt good enough for that full time or even pasrt time. it would be cool if we could do it. well, we could do it with salmons if he werent so greedy.

Part of the reason this game stayed close was because Westbrook absolutely destroyed Garcia in the 2nd half. Garcia did fine bringing the ball up, but he can't guard fast point guards (nor should he really be expected to). It's a gimmick more than a solution.

While it might be irrelevant at this point, this is the kind of situation I was hoping Quincy might benefit from. A decent 2, who can handle the ball, allowing QD to switch to 2 on offense, and 1 on defense (kind of when Doug helped Bibby be a scorer while often handling the ball).

Sad, it never turned out that way.

Or we've never tried. What I'm most disappointed with in Q is his poor offensive performance in games. Even wide open shots and stuff he misses, and everyone says that he's an insane shooter in practice and stuff. He would be so useful just as a consistent legit shooting threat if he shot as well during games as he supposedly does outside of em

No one did...:D

It's the best solution for this year. Whereas Garcia gets hurt by smaller points, he can hurt them right back with his size. He's better than either Beno or Brown at the point. I'd like to see Beno traded (for a bag of chips) and have Garcia go to starter with Brown as backup.

i wouldnt mind seeing the old beno in all honesty as im sure we all would. IF he can get back to that same level then trading him for nothing would be insane

Garcia running the point is just a short term solution... best option we have right now. Would I want him running the show next year? NO WAY. We need to get a pg that can penetrate and make plays for others. Doesn't need to be a scorer. Garcia looked ok at the point last game, against a rookie, and a team with the same number of wins as us.
