Was however the one big game of the series for both Kevin and Reef, and along with Bonzi's emergence a rather inspiring response to losing Ron for that game.

True, but I think seeing them lose that lead in the last few seconds once is enough for me...Last minute of that game was pretty series changing.

I might watch game 3 tomorrow though! I didnt get to see the last half of the 4th quarter (although I did see replays of K-Mart's shot on ESPN) because of my dumb*** ex-roommate.

Yah that shot is what put him on the map. Hopefully now getting a starting spot will catapult him into a 20ppg guy.

What really gets me about all these "insiders" is that they think Salmons replaced Wells, but in reality it was Martin that is replacing Wells, and Garcia/Salmons is replacing Martins spot.

One more time -- Kevin was on the team last year. Kevin is on the team this year. Bonzi was on the team last year. Salmons is on the team this year. Hence, Salmons replaced Bonzi on our roster. And its a helluva downgrade. Kevin simply remains Kevin.

That's one way of looking at it. Some people are looking at the starting slots. Last year Bonzi Wells was our starting 2. This year, Kevin Martin is our starting 2. So, for a lot of people, Kevin replaced Bonzi. Salmons replaced Martin on the bench.

Those some people are so far as I can tell restricted to a small group of Kings fans howling at the moon.

Nah, a lot of us see it that way. Either way is technicallycorrect. If you want to break it down to roster spots than you could say that Amundson is replacing Bonzi's roster spot. Or Justin Williams (if he makes the team).

I am talking about starting spot, and bench spot. Martin moves to starting SG which was Bonzi's, and Salmons is brought in to play backup PG (which was not Bonzi's spot), and backup shooting guard (which was only Bonzi's spot until Martin missed a few games due to injury after initially taking over Bonzi's spot when Bonzi was injured).

So say what you will, you can make a valid argument both ways. I always thought the people that said Salmons was here to replace Bonzi were a bit CooCoo.

Or those who realize Bonzi Wells is not going to be replaced by any one player on this team insofar as his statistics. Or those that realize that playoff statistics don't make the entire value of a player to a team.

Bonzi Wells wasn't the key to a championship for this team. It is time to get over it; we get you don't approve...move on.

Agreed. It is my opinion that Salmons was signed to address our backup PG problem. When Petrie gave up on signing Wells, he used the money to get the best available free agent for the spot that we were pretty weak last season. As it happened, Salmons can also play two other positions(SG, SF). Anyway, what done is done and people will always have different opinions on everything, so we should all move on.

Anyway, i don't want to derail this thread, so...... I haven't watched any of the playoffs last season, but i got to read VF's PBP every game, and i can still remember Game 3 really got me off my seat and howling at the moon. This happened was i was at work, my colleauges were looking at me like i was nuts.:D

Man, i need to get NBATV but my cable provider doesnt offer it yet, i always feel like im missing out.

I didnt get to see a lot of those games last season due to work, i would really like the chance to see em.

With dish network you can pay like 5 bucks more a month for the expanded sports package which will give you every fsn, nba tv and some others.

I think I'm on that same expanded sports package with Comcast, it's like 4.95 a month. NBATV, NFL Network and a bunch of Fox Sports whatevers. I give NBATV and the NFL Network a heavy workout.
