From espn.com kings messageboard...

Take this for what it is worth, which is probably nothing:

I HAVE HEARD A POTENTIAL TRADE INVOLVING US AND THE BOBCATS THROUGH RADIO EARLIER TODAY IT WAS MENTIONED TO HAVE BEEN ONGOING FOR AROUND THE PAST 3 DAYS OFF AND ON SO I AM GUESSING THERE IS SOME TRUTH TO IT THOUGH YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW FOR SURE AS PETRIE IS A PRETTY CLOSED MOUTH G.M. UNTIL THINGS ACTUALLY HAPPEN !

HERE IS THE TRADE IF IT HAPPENS

THE KINGS SEND
KENNY THOMAS AND JASON HART
THE BOBCATS SEND
MELVIN ELY AND BREVIN KNIGHT TO THE KINGS
I AM GIVING INFORMATION AS I HEARD IT THIS IS NOT SOME MADE UP RUMOR STARTED BY ME PERSONALLY I LIKE THIS DEAL AS A HUGE KINGS FAN !

THOUGHTS ON THIS DEAL ?
JUST WANT TO SEE IF OTHERS BELIEVE THIS IS A GOOD DEAL FOR THE KINGS ?????????????????

Ely confirmed today that he has asked the Bobcats for a trade. Soooo who knows. Bobcats did like Jason and Knight is old and hurting. so i guess we will see.

I'd do it. Ely can bang, and I like Knight.

One question. Why would the bobcats trade a guy that expires at the end of the season at only 3 million for a guy that has a contract that goes through the first half of '10 for 10 million plus a year?

Every rumor that starts with "I heard on the radio" is most likely made up. I don't know why people make stuff up, but they do. Then they go and post about it on national boards like ESPN. It becomes extremely hard to verify, and refute because it's not a local station.

What radio station, and who said it? Sports stations are the only stations that discuss trade rumors, and the only people who listen to sports stations are sports fans and they know the on air personalities.

Kenny Thomas is the last thing a building team needs.

Especially when you have Okafor and Sean May that would instantly be atop him on the depth chart.

Well that is obviously a salary dump because it does nothing for the team as is. I would find it hard to believe Knight to be involved, even though he is injured, I thought the Bobcats were high on him. Also I am not sure why they would want Kenny with Okafor and May. Unless they plan to go with Okafor at C and Kenny at PF.

I would defintely do it...
its not exactly what you call a "blockbuster trade" but at this point anything is good...

I like melvin Ely alot...And I think brevin knight would be a good back up for bibby, but I hope the trade is alittle bifgger like Kenny,a first round pic, and jason heart, and some cash. In return we get brevin knight and oakor....Now that would be sweet...::Looks off into space:::

Wasn't it the Bobcats that dumped Hart for a 2nd round pick? Why would they want him back? This trade rumor is too good to be true.

This is another one of those trade rumors that just has you scratching your head...

It's a modern-day urban legend type of thing. As has been mentioned above, no name of the radio station, no real attribution, etc.

I've seen it on a couple of boards now and it's obviously being spread around by a bunch of people who don't understand the use of the cap lock key.

;)

Jason complained about playing time behind Knight and Felton or they traded him to be fair to him or something like that.

This trade makes absolutely no sense for the Bobcats, unless the Kings are including a 1st round pick in the deal, which I would find hard to believe.

Seems like a completely fabricated deal.

Bingo. Were words like too and to interspersed at inappropriate times?

I'd do this trade in a HARTbeat, though. However, over here I heard we would throw in Pot and a 2nd rounder for Okafor....
