Free agency mega thread 2025 edition!

Sure and funny enough they all were shoes. So the heights are all relatively the same if you are consistent in your measurements.

DeMar is the same height with and without shoes.
Yet here we are pointing out that the 1972 Ford Mustang has a curb weight of 3143 pounds, but you're jumping in to insist that it's a lightweight because it's only 3060 pounds without the tires.

Monk for PJ Washington was always a pipe dream. Just because Kevin Pelton says he would do it doesn't mean Dallas would...

Similar pipedream - get back Ron Holland with Schroeder!
Dallas does have a lot of money tied up with PJ and his playing time will be severely diminished. It does make a small amount of sense.

Dude seriously. You doing okay? You have been uncharacteristically chippy these days?

6’5” with no shows or 6’6” with shows absent and insane plus wingspan is generally shooting guard size. Can they play up? Sure Josh Hart has proven they can but you better have Josh Hart heart and brain.

It's honestly a bit silly to keep insisting that a player who's always played a specific position, worn shoes like everyone else while doing it, been identified as that position by every coach and scout he's worked with, and clearly excels at it thanks to his rebounding and ability to play bigger, must not be able to play that role, all because of his height without shoes... especially when, according to your own admission, you’ve never even seen him play.

I might respect the opinion if he said "nah, I've seen 30 Colorado state games, I disagree with every draft analyst that he's a wing." He's probably still wrong, but at least there's a basis for an opinion

But he's using "height without shoes on" as his evidence to refute people who do this for a living

Agree- the Jazz just bought out Jordan Clarkson because no one would trade for him, and he is expected to sign with the Knicks for the minimum. I would rather have Monk than Clarkson, but the differences between the two, in terms of skills set, are not so vast that one would have a significantly higher trade value or market.
This!
We are seemingly severely overvaluing or own guys and every try so gauge a realistic interest gets clowned on this forum.
Now the Monk archetype seems to be just a salary dump in the current market, evident by the clarkson buy out. Yeah Monk is the better player, but the still are kind of same same.

How is the "non-shooting PG/SG that can't stretch the floor" archetype doing in the current market? That's who Perry is going after.

Schroder shot better from three than Monk did over the last two seasons
We can have both Monk and Schroder. I would still prefer Monk taking a three at crunch time over Schroder.

Why are we leaving out Westbrook's shooting from three? We're talking about a S&T because we want to get Westbrook in addition to Schroder. Dumping off Monk's contract to generate space to sign Westbrook? Monk offers more to the team at this point.
