Guess I'm not in my right mind, which probably doesn't come as much of a surprise.
To me, there's a big difference between considering different players during TDOS, for example, and drooling over other players while the game is on the screen. I hate it when Jerry and Grant would do it, so I fully understand where Hoovtrain and others are coming from.
There has to be a happy medium at some point, which is why we mods try to keep certain discussions limited to certain threads. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have broken this sub-topic out into its own thread but it seemed at the time to be better than derailing the thread where it was posted originally.

It is quite possible to be happy with a player that happens to be on a losing team.

I’m talking about in general. Which is evident when the Same folks were lamenting last year about what other teams had vs what the Kings had.....while the kings were looking promising and great! lol.
I guess because MEM just had a nice little 10 game stretch to get to .500 now means Morant is better than Fox
I think it's annoying when Grant and Jerry would do it too (Mr. Uh oh...puke) but it's just a natural thing for the fans when the team sucks. The team sucks because the GM, coach and players aren't very good so that's what's going to dominate many of the discussions. A lot of fans want to talk about how to make the team better. They don't want to just sit and talk about the current garbage we're watching on almost a nightly basis. I get why it can be annoying to the more positive fans such as yourself but at the same time there's not much to talk about with the current team that already hasn't been said. Many fans are in the "who cares?" portion of the season that we've all experienced for the last 13 years.
I think it's good that you made the sub topic because basketball discussion is better than no discussion.
Most of the talk last year was just about Luka vs. Bagley and it's not like they were wrong there either. People saw a budding star in Luka and a future of deep playoff runs instead of fringe .500 seasons. People were very happy with the jump that Fox took. This year he has taken a quarter step back so it's unnerving for some people.
I don't really get the Morant vs. Fox debate because it's not like we could have had Morant anyway. I guess they're just similar players and Morant shows more fire than Fox so it's not out of left field that it's a talking point but at the same time we never could have had him anyway so there's no point in dwelling on it to me.

The debate is from the fact many on here call Fox the best young PG in the NBA and he has not shown it this year. I don't think it's about Morant showing more fire he's just better in the half court where you actually win games.
Oh good grief. Be real. There is a handful of people that cannot stand to see any current Kings player portrayed in a positive manner. I'm' not saying it's right or wrong. I'm just saying it''s there... If you do it, at least you could own it.

Just in reading your posts, you are that guy who will never be content with what your team has and will always want what the other team has. But If the roles were reversed I’m fairly certain you’d be touting Fox over Morant and so on and so on. Just my opinion though
And I have talked to non Kings fans friends/non friends about fox/morant and not one has said they would take him over Fox.
If our young guys showed that talent and fire I wouldn’t care, look at Morant he brings it every night no star game here than disappearing act there. I like Fox but I don’t think he has that talent over mentality that we’d need from a superstar I see a star in him not superstar. I like fox but if our cornerstone I’m holding him to a higher standard than I guess some of y’all are if we want to be a playoff team.
I’ve loved Giles since we drafted him and I’ve said I’m higher on him than Bagley no knock on Bagley. But when it’s written that Giles won’t be here next year why get excited about that.
