While a new arena will greatly help its chances, Seattle likely isn’t getting a NBA team until at least 2025. Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors will head to Seattle on Friday for an exhibition game against the Sacramento Kings — the first NBA game played in the city in nearly a decade. While fans in Seattle have long advocated for the return of the SuperSonics, don’t expect basketball to be returning to the city any time soon.
