ESPN's NBA Future Power Rankings

I read this series with interest when they came out because I usually like Hollinger's work, but it is hard to respect anyone too much who grades us poorly on our cap situation and says we have several bad long term contracts.

We only have 3 guys on the entire roster who make over 5 million per year, and one, Dalembert (the worst one) is an expiring). It strikes me as sloppy research (and failing to acknowledge that the Kings overhauled and got rid of guys like martin, Nocioni, etc... who had big contracts)

Wait. So one would have to pay to read an article that was written by someone who didn't care enough to take a quick look-see at the roster before writing it? More evidence to suggest that Insider isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Garcia and Beno are bad contracts.

Ha! I see what you did right there. :)

Beno and Garcia both expire by the time we have to resign most of our young guys anyway, so their deals wouldn't hurt our future even if they were bad. In the meantime, they're both great complements to our star's game and will account for almost all of the backcourt minutes that he doesn't. That isn't too bad a return on a combined $12 million these days.
