ESPN: Magic beat Lakers behind Howards 25/20

On a side note, article says that Vlade is tied for 3rd all time in Laker triple-doubles behind only Magic and Kobe.

:D Congrats to Vlade, Says alot since LA has had so many great players.

Magic are seriously legit. Jameer Nelson has seriously come into his own--those gaudy shooting numbers (50% FGs 45% 88% FTs) are really, really Nash-like, impressive since he wasn't even billed as a shooter coming out of college. Turkoglu and Lewis are great glue guys. Their system of surrounding a dominant paint guy in Howard with shooters really works.

You know, the deciding factor in a 7 game series might just be that the Magic have Howard, and BOS/CLE do not have big men who can even come close to comparing to him.

I like what Nelson's done with his game. Guess that's what 1,000 shots a day during the brutally hot summer months will do for you. Really proud of that young man for taking such an active role in fixing the holes in his game.

It'll be interesting to see how Dwight does under the pressure of a big Game 7...

Lakers on a bit of a skid now that they've actually had to play some tough teams. Will it be three in a row after Cleveland or will they bounce back to winning ways?

What's with Bynum's rebounding lately?

Unless you are talking about Centers exclusively, this statement is erroneous.

I think Bynum is the weak link in the Laker chain. I've thought he was over-rated right from the beginning and I think Laker fans are going to be sadly disappointed if they expect him to become a dominant center in the NBA.

Not really. Cleveland has nobody, and Garnett isn't the same Garnett he used to be. Still a great player, but he's not the dominating post presence that Howard is.

true VF bynum is not what everyone thinks. I've watched him extensively since he's been drafted, and although his frame has come along, sadly(for laker fans) his game hasn't followed. He'll show flashes here and there but that's about it. People forget that he only played I think like only 1 or 2 years of high school ball before being drafted. He's still got alot of time to become a consistent dominate big man in this league but from what I've seen I highly doubt that'll be the case.

And I'm sure as hell not complaining oneeee bit.

the magic are legit.... as long as they hit their threes.... when pietrus gets back that team will be a major threat. lee is okay but they need someone who can really handle playing sg full time. i dont think that lee and redick are a good enough tandem to compete with teams like bos and cle.... but i like the magic... it was a good game. howard is amazing, that block on bynum and then he was playing defense on kobe and holding his own better than anyone else on that team.... kobe tried like 3 times to take dwight off the dribble and couldnt.

if he works on developing a real low post game he will be unstoppable.... he's too fast, too big and too strong for any big in the nba to hang with him.
