Doug Christie for Coach!

I like our current coach rite now, I have faith in him and really believe he's going to help change the gameplay of the team more towards a positive note. I must say I wouldn't have been against the idea before this new coach was appointed. You have to love any player from our golden years.

Doug denied it on Twitter. I'm disappointed. There has to be a very interesting story behind this - we probably will never know the truth

Weird he would he go on the tv show saying it was a done deal to be a coach in Sacramento then deny it on Twitter. He probably made it up in the first place to get away from that batcrap crazy wife of his.

I'm so confused. Why would he say what he did on the TV show only to deny that he is coaching just a few days later. It doesn't make any sense. I really hope that the clip shouldn't have aired yet and he just can't say anything is official yet or something. I really feel having Christie on the bench would help out team in so many ways. Please make it so, Doug.

Does anybody know how current that reality show is? Could that have happened weeks or months ago - even when the HC job was on the table?

I figure he said yes to the job, and then changed his mind because it would be too hard on his family. I was hopping mad at first, but hey if you're Doug Christie, and money isn't a problem, and your wife feels really strongly against moving to Sacramento... maybe you say yes - then turn around and say no. If so, it doesn't undo his status as my favorite King from the heyday.

While I like the idea of Doug as an asst coach, I cringe at the thought of LA house wife reality tv being a part of the Kings and in the locker room environment. Second, we just got a head coach and a large group of assistant coaches, so unless Dave specifically ask for Doug to be his coach, I don't find it necessary to bring every member of our golden era back into the franchise.

I hate to admit it, but I've actually watched that stupid show a few times...and I know it's generally taped months in advance.

I would love to hear from Christie himself what that scene was all about and what happened. Hopefully sooner than later.
