Dont look now

^^^ haaa... funny, but i think one way would be cheapest.... jet blue, to sacto for like 69.99 when you purchase the tickets 2 weeks in advance.....

Interesting debate but I don't think our seeding really matters. Trades, injuries, etc have pretty much ended this season.

But I think next year will be better, don't discount Petrie and his long term planning.

Amen, couldnt have said it better myself. Only after the season will we start to see a little more of his ideas for the future.

With Miller out, this season should be pretty much cashed in. But while we're banking on hope, I'd much rather see Seattle in the first round and knock them out. In the second round we get Miller and Bobby back just in time to push this team over the top and finally win it all. But in reality, "don't look now" is a little late, seeing as Houston's been creeping up on us for quite some time. The only way we keep the 5 seed is by straight up outplaying Houston down the stretch, which I just don't see happening. Not even looking at the schedules, Houston is just on fire and beating everyone. Sacramento is looking good for what's going on, but we can't compete, at least in terms of what happens in the next few weeks. If it weren't for the fact that the Lakers and Wolves are trying everything in their power to avoid the playoffs, I'd worry about missing the playoffs altogether.

As much as I hate to say it Houston deserves to move up...they really have been playing well. And even though people are saying "this season is over for us" as a Kings fan I always hold out the hope and belief that something great will happen. If I've learned anything being a Kings fan it's to expect the unexpected! GO KINGS!! GO BIBBY!!! GET WELL BRAD AND BOBBY! GIVE ME A 3 PEJA!!

I fully expect the Kings to give someone hell in the first round, if not beat them. They're just going to limp their ways into whatever arena they arrive in.

And remember, after last year's collapse I was pretty damn pessimistic going into the playoffs and we still managed to get a hair away from the WCF.

Um, no offense, captain bill, but however would we know that?

;)

memphis won as well tonight, entirely possible (perhaps even likely) that Kings to to 7. Six games up on Lakers/Denver means Kings make the playoffs absent some enormous meltdown. @5 vs. Dallas, @6 vs Seattle, @7 vs Phoenix......doesn't matter, this season is over. But hey it was entertaining!

I completely agree! Go Kings!!!

Just hold on to that 6th spot. Let Houston and Dallas duke it out in the first round.

I wouldn't mind the 6th seed and taking on Seattle in the first round. Hopefully Phoenix could get the #1 seed so Dallas, Houston and SA would all be in the same bracket. Also, if Denver gets the #8 seed they could cause problems for whoever is #1.

No disrespect toward Seattle and Phoenix but I think we match up better with these 2 teams with our current roster(minus Brad) than we do the other 3.

I have been thinking about the match-ups of late...........well, we are getting close. :D

I think that, with Brad out, we will not move up and overtake Dallas for the 4th seed. In that case, I would also rather drop back to #6. Seattle has cooled off a little (like we knew they would) and they are the team I would rather see in the 1st round. In that case, I hope that Phoenix can take the #1 seed. I agree that they would be a better match-up. In this scenario, we could actually get lucky and go to the WCF. Otherwise, I think we will go out in the 1st round. It's not that I think we are not good enough. I just think too many injuries will prevent us from getting anywhere.

I might not have my head on straight, but I'd think that the only way we want the 6 seed is if San Antonio has the 1 seed. That way they play the winner of the 4 vs 5 (right?) and, if the Kings beat the 3 seed, they play the winner of 2 vs. 7. Or did the NBA finally implement that re-seeding after every round idea that everyone has been talking about for the last ten years (and I obviously missed it)?

^^ you're right. that's what i think.

1st round
1 vs 8
2 vs 7
3 vs 6
4 vs 5

2nd round (assuming all teams with HCA wins)
1 vs 4
2 vs 3

yeah im quite aware of the situation...

Im not gonna kill myself if we slip down to 6...cuz as we all know Houston has been ballin since before the all star break...and prolly deserves that 5 spot...maybe even Dallas's 4th spot...

but it puts even more pressure on our guys...they know the situation....in order to stay put we have cheer loud for our guys to win and cheer loud for the Rockets opponents to win...i heard next up for the Rockets is the Portland at home...and Portland has only won ONCE since they got rid of Mo Cheeks

Portland is tanking the year. Don't count on them for anything. They got rid of Mo Cheeks because he was TRYING to win. Sucks for the fans but hey, it's a smart way to rebuild and gets some newbies play time.

Oops, my bad. If we finish 6th I would prefer to have San Antonio be the #1 seed. I don't think they re-seed but I think HCA changes if the teams below the #2 and #3 seed have better records.

Am I the only one finding it sad that we're hoping for the weakest possible match-up in the first round so we can somehow make it into the second round, where we will most likely be totally and completely demolished?

:(

I know what you mean, but for me getting beat by Dallas in the first round would be the worst way to end the season. I love knowing that we've sent them home more that they have us and I want to keep it that way. If we have to go down, I'd feel better all summer knowing we went down to San Antonio or Phoenix

I Don't Care Where We Finish ...

What's more important to me is HOW WE FINISH.

King's could play just suckee-ball and end-up out of the running.

Start playing some GOOD BALL - GET SOME MOJO WORKIN' !!!

I'd like to see the King's gaining some momentum (no matter what Mr. Napear says - MOMENTUM IS IMPORTANT) ... going into the playoffs.

I am very confident that the Kings can beat the Sonics in the playoffs, and if we play them, I think we will beat them. So if we slip to 6th, so be it... but not more than that!
