Don't be afraid - embrace the magic

Kings fans have had years of frustration and disappointment. So it's only natural, I suppose, to be reluctant to embrace what's going on right now as anything real and tangible. But, guess what? It is real.

We're seeing veteran players go out there and do their jobs. We're seeing role player who know their roles. We're seeing our franchise player be the player we all hoped he would be, some with less confidence than others. We're seeing our head coach take chances because he has faith in our guys. The least we can do is show that we, too, have faith and believe.

Some of you do not remember or were not Kings fans the last time we had something special going on. Believe me when I tell you what we're seeing isn't just a bad team getting a little better. This is about to get very, very interesting...

I've loved this team since 1985. There are a lot of us here who never gave up hope. We were here through thick and thin, and we're here now.

It's okay to be optimistic. It's okay to embrace the magic. It's okay to push your team to be the best they can be, and be positive when you do it. It's one of the reasons Kings fans gained a reputation around the league the last time and it's the reason we'll regain that reputation again.

WE LOVE OUR KINGS!

After so many years of disappointment I feel like I have to temper any excitement. Last year the team was so boring to watch. The product was horrible. This year they look invigorated. I didn't watch 1 min of MNF.
Your right VF. This could get very interesting.

I want to! But I think it's a little bit too early still.

I do like that they are winning with defense and also executing in crunch time.

It's been a while since I watched the Kings and and thought Wow this is great ball!

I'm not sure this was the night. :p

Clippers was though.

And what this game was was that tough team wide effort game that a good confident team can pull off even when shots aren't falling, legs aren't fresh. You're the better team, you know it, you don't ever let that poor lesser little worm wriggle off your hook, and then you finiish them late and add another W to your growing pile.

Last year even the wins often felt ugly and often a bit lucky. So far this season it feels like the wins are due to a plan being followed on offense and defense.

If our SGs start consistently hitting from outside and stretch the floor this team will really have a winning formula they can rely on night after night.

This was a great game to watch.

I watched at the computer labs at school.

When Sessions hit a three in the fourth, to go up by 4, I pumped my fist in the air and a couple of students looked my way a little funny.

I glanced right back and just nodded my head.

First time in a long time where I cared for a W.

What a great game.

Been a long time since we could look forward to the next game. I am declaring this the season of Unbridled Optimism.

I'm in.

This team is tough. Shares the ball. Plays defense. And we have Cuz.

Playoff push! We might not make it this year, but we'll make some noise!

The point to hold on to, is there's truly something to build on here. Consistent and solid defense, with a point guard who leads.

This hot start is not just hot shooting or luck. It's solid all around team play and defense

That's why I believe in this team shooting/luck don't last or travel but we are beating teams ( 2 top 10 teams) with defense and getting to the line.

I too have been a Kings fanatic since 1985. Those early years we simply craved the giddy excitement of our team simply because we had an actual NBA team. Back in those days who can forget the Tuesday home wins. I forget exactly when it started but Kings somehow would win at home on Tuesdays but lose most other days of the week - or so it seemed. Through it all we've kept the faith, experienced fantastic Glory Days and corresponding heartache. Then we almost lost our beloved team until a remarkable new owner-savior arrived with incredible vision and realization of what we have here that's so unique - so deeply cherished by the never say die Kings fan base. Now we begin the new build, the new journey - it's all really good to be a Kings fan - once again.

The last time we went 3-1 to open the season was Cousin's rookie year (2010-2011).

BUT... T'Wolves went on to go 17-65 that season. Nets went 24-58. Cavs went 19-63. Raptors went 22-60. And we went on to finish with 24-58.

We just went 3-1 against playoff caliber teams. HYPE HYPE HYPE.

I remember the Tuesday magic. I was 9.
