"When people think of me, all they think about is, 'He's dirty,'" Bowen said before the Spurs' 103-96 loss to Philadelphia. "You don't ever want to be looked at as a player like that."
haha...
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

okay, okay, no wait......

"I kicked Ray, and I was wrong for that, and I dealt with the consequences of that," Bowen said. "But the consequences here were greater, and it wasn't a kick."
And yet he still admits to kicking another player. What a d****e.

"I kicked Ray, (and Steve, and Vince, and Wally, and Alan, and Amare, and five or six other guys,) and I was wrong for that, and I dealt with the consequences of that, (which were usually a PF or nothing at all)" Bowen said. "But the consequences here were greater, and it wasn't a kick."

The league is trying to send him a message more than anything," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said.

No ****, Sherlock. Some might even say that they were trying to send you one as well.

bruce bowen is clean (on and off the court) compared to ron artest. he jumped when he got hit in the nuts. it's not like cp meant to hit him, they were going for a loose ball. but it's not like bowen was kicking anybody either.

The disussion isn't about Ron Artest, but thanks for trying to insult our intelligence with a classic bait-and-switch maneuver. Spurs fans can make excuses for Bowen all they like but it doesn't change a thing. His record speaks for itself.

I'll never forget in the playoffs. I believe it was the first year Bruce signed with SAS. It was common knowledge that Kobe's left wrist was injured. Anyway Kobe had dived after a steal or loose ball and slide on his stomach to about half court. He had his arms down next to his sides, palms facing up. Well Bruce had the entire floor to walk around Kobe but just so happens he decided that his only way past Kobe was to step directly over him while making sure to step directly on his bad wrist in the process.

That is a new one, when did kobe stick up for bowen. Have you seen any of the games between the two, so many instances where kobe points to the ref after a jumper about how bowen is coming under his leg where he would land.

He just didnt whine like ray as you spurs fans put it, but he knows that bowen will try to hurt any of the opponents in any possible way.

Ron Artest is a hard nosed, tough defender who acts dumb sometimes but it is no way comparable to the dirty, calculated injury causing moves that bowen makes. I respect artest as a defender even if he plays for the other team but i hate bowen. I dont think i can say that about any other player in the league

definitely my least favorite player in the league now that Danny Fortson is out.

In addition, I think he is completely overrated as a defender, in that he gets away with the most contact, regular and flagrant, of any player in the past 20 years. If he was called like the average player his ability to stop anyone with a teaspoon of talent would disappear like R. Kelly into the National Girl Scout Convention.

^that's a new one. if bowen were such a jerk to kobe, why does kobe stick up for bowen?

Kobe very rarely complains about anyone. Other than reacting to Raja's clothesline when has he really had anything negative to say of a opposing player? Even now Kobe and Raja seem to be on good terms. Only other one I can think of is Ray Allen and that was more one sided due to Ray's jealousy.
