Did anyone attend the draft party at Arco?

I went...it was mostly cheers for Evans. scattered boos here and there. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

STH had tables on or near the court. About 1/3 of the downstairs was filled. (Hmm, just like the last Kings regular season game I saw)

Just before our pick, I was chatting with some STH and MSE employees. The consensus was that if the Kings didn't choose Rubio, there was going to be a riot.

But, when Evans was announced, what we heard MOSTLY were cheers. Maybe the Rubio supporters just resigned themselves and ordered more beers?

JT was making the rounds greeting, signing, posing, and soothing.

About 2000-3000 people there, my guess. I went to the Kings store, and they had very few Kings shirts to purchase!

The crowd erupted with cheers when, at 3, OKC picked Harden. But then a subdued grumble when Evans was announced. Yes, there were some cheers, but more boos. The crowd seemed stunned. It felt like such a let down after the OKC pick. Clearly, the fans there were Rubio fans.

I left right away. Nothing interesting after that. Most people were sticking around. I felt let down. I needed to leave.

I would've been happy with either Rubio or Evans but I was leaning towards Evans and was one of the few people in the area I was sitting that actually stood up and cheered when the pick was made. Tons of people just sat there in stunned silence, I thought it was pretty freaking hilarious. Especially the 4 teenage girls sitting near us who looked as if someone had just killed a puppy.

Also the young teenager who clearly had a man crush on Rubio that instantly got up and walked out shaking his head and muttering to himself was pretty funny too.

Place had way more people than last year, I would agree there was probably around 3000 people total.

Wow, different responses in this thread regarding the reaction to Tyreke. I guess, it depends on where you sat to hear the response.
