Who wudda thunk it? The Nuggets meet the Mavericks and the Hornets & Spurs get to watch from home? Very interesting...

The Nuggets are so impressive with Chauncey at the helm of their team. This should be a fun, entertaining series. I am rooting for whoever can beat the Lakers.

Nuggets in 6 probably in 5 but then again I thought that the Spurs will easily handle them too in the 1st round but...

Yeah, but the Spurs were injured. The Nuggets are healthy and just came off an absolute beatdown over the Hornets, including that 58-point record setter.

However, I agree with your first prediction.. Nuggets in 6 or 7.

I never liked Dallas as a playoff team...at all. Pretty much a three-man offensive team with Howard, Nowitzki, and Terry, as Kidd won't even crack double digits on most nights nowadays. As an aside, I hated it when the sixth man award was given to Terry--yeah he played off the bench and averaged 20 ppg, but come on, look at the guy who was starting in front of him--Antoine Wright of all people. Terry also basically played starter minutes off the bench, and the talent disparity between he and Wright is so great that Terry basically had no reason to be coming off the bench other than to provide a spark (I guess that's what it is though). And their role players are stocked with some solid guys (Barea, Bass, Singleton), clueless youngsters (Hollins, Green) and offensively deficient "defenders" (Wright, George). Not really a recipe conducive to success, and it will catch up to them this series.

The Nuggets on the other hand are also peaking and on a hot streak (as an aside, is it just me, or do they seem to have many blowouts where they win by large margins? I'm not just saying this because they beat Nawlins by 58; if I recall they also beat the Thunder by 40+ while scoring 163, and they've had many 30 pt wins). They are a team chock full of athletes and serviceable big men (the Nene-Martin-Anderson trio is actually quite underrated), and while their gunning selfishness made them lose easily last year, this year they're stabilized by Billups, who has dramatically increased their team defense tenfold and made them more disciplined on offense just by his mere presence. And that bench--Anderson, Smith and Kleiza are quite lethal, and they actually have good perimeter defenders (Carter, Billups, Jones). So sorry for overlooking this series, but I think they can match up well with the Lakers. Nugs in 5 most likely

This series is gonna get ugly - and painful - and a true test of just how far the league will let temper tantrums, dirty shots, etc. go before they just start giving out mass technicals and/or flagrant fouls. I cannot imagine Mark Cuban walking away from this round with less than $500K in penalties of some kind...

nuggets in 6... nene and melo will own the mavs... if the nuggets win i think that they can give the lakers a run for their money.

Fell asleep near half but wow the Nuggets are looking good. I knew removing AI would help this team, I didn't think they would be this great with Billups though. Went from a pretender in the playoffs to a contender with him.

Wow nuggets are deadly right now, I cant believe they didnt trade Kleiza for Artest. They dont even use Kleiza anymore.

What a crazy finish. Pleading for the officials to call a foul on your team.

I'm not a Cuban basher but I expect to see him fined after shoving the cameraman after the game. Classless.

wow seriously bad officiating this playoffs.. called ticky fouls all game, Dallas had a foul to give and the refs dont call the intentional foul.. wow

I can't believe the refs didn't call that foul. They didn't lose the series for the Mavs, but they just cost the Mavs a chance to come back and win the series. I don't know what the nba's reaction will be, but those refs should be suspended. They just cost the Mavs a swing game in the playoffs.

wright was dumb enough to show at first he didn't foul but when Melo scored he started showing that he fouled lol so don't blame the refs this time blame the mavs

Even though the refs messed up, this is more Wright's fault than theirs. Don't just stand there assuming a whistle is gonna be blown, keep playing until you hear one.

Funny cause I thought Wright played a good game up until that point

That's what I saw. Wright wanted to eat his cake and have it. He held his hands up like "I didn't foul" .... until the shot went in. Then he started protesting that he DID foul.

If he wanted to foul the guy, he should have wrapped him up.

Mavs deserved what they got. I hate them.

I completely agree.

And on a bizarre side note, has anyone seen that so-called girlfriend or fiance' of Dirk Nowitzski? I mean here's a multi-multi millionaire, tall, good looking, 29 year old German blond who could have any Dallas Cowboy cheerleader he wanted, or many of the world's most beautiful super models. Instead, he's been attached for several years to this low-life tramp, very below average looking (many would say scag ugly) 37 year old criminal:eek: You'd think the guy might if absolutely necessary have that one on the very down low, out of all public view, but she's reportedly been referred to as "Yoko Ono" by Mavs players.

Yes it probably should have been called but Wright certainly bears his share of the blame. Just a dumb move, those body bumps may or may not get called, he oughtta know that. Especially in the waning seconds the refs are less likely to call a foul.

The commentators were saying that Wright was trying to intentionally foul; I disagree, I think he was playing defense (poorly) and incorrectly assumed his contact was enough for a foul call and immediately put his hands up to deny it... and when the shot goes in, he starts pleading "I fouled him!"

Cuban's frustration... priceless. And assault on a cameraman to boot.

Makes me flashback to another questionable intentional foul... Fox on Vlade, game 4.
