Slovenia lost it again. This was classic fight between centers: Brezec and Nesterovic, experienced NBA players, against SCG kids Milicic and Krstic. Darko Milicic finally showed why he deserves to be called under National flag. He scored 9 pts, but number of blocked shoots near his name is really impressive. This young man made 9 blocks and 6 rebounds for 30 minutes and proved that in future Serbian fans should not be afraid for centers with trio Krstic-Milicic-Perovic. If you add to them Rebraca, Tomasevic and Milojevic then it is not so hard to imagine what strength Serbian team will have under baskets on next European Championship. Tomasevic is still on rehabilitation, Rebraca missed this game too, but some rumors are saying that he will be ready for match with Lithuanians. Primoz Brezec was more then good in Slovenian team. This NBA center from Charlotte Bobcats dominated with 16 pts and 11 rebounds and showed that this team simply can not function without his help. Slovenians simply must find solution to synchronize guards both in offense and defense, or in other way they will have lot of problems. This tournament, against strong opponents, was the bingo for them in way to see what corrections they need to make. Aleksandar Pavlovic (Clevelad Cavaliers) was solid surprise for all people in Moraca; yesterday, but his performance even in first game against Croatia was on this level too. Obradovic will have super difficult mission to eliminate 2 players after these preparations, especially after Bojan Popovic' great role last night. Obviously that Serbian coach force team play, without so many jumpings from the system, but there still has to be done a lot in fast breaks and shoot from outside. Slovenia had 8 rebounds more then SCG, but that didn't help in situation when their shooting was under 37%.
Serbia and Montenegro: Jaric 3, Pavlovic 11, Gurovic 3, Radmanovic 12 (4 steals), Milicic 9 (6 rebounds, 9 blocks), Bodiroga 8, Avdlaovic, Rakocevic 4, Scepanovic 7, Bojan Popovic 7 (3 rebounds, 3 steals), Krstic 8, Milojevic 2 (7 rebounds).
