Darko playing well

For those who care, Darko had two very solid game for SCG squad against Croatia and Slovenia - Croatia's big man is considered to be the best European center Nikola Vujcic and Slovenia has Nesterovic and Brezec. I don't know the exact stats, but the fans back home have been really pleasantly surprised about his mobility, strength, and his presence in the key. He had around 7 blocks and 9 rebounds against Slovenia and a two handed dunk over someone. That sounds like he did more in that one game than in previous 2 NBA seasons combined.
People are suggesting that he will be in the starting lineup over Krstic.

I don't know whether he'll be in the starting line-up (at least not right away), but it is nice to know that Brown didn't totally ruin the kid. You go, Darko!

Well, I mean SCG national team starting lineup. The other candidates are Krstic, Rebraca, Popovic and Tomasevic. Tomasevic is very questionable because of injury and Rebraca has a minor injury himself. Still, pretty good considering that some of the other players who got consistent playing time in the NBA, like Drobnjak or Cabarkapa didn't even get invited for the national team camp.
I'm glad for two reasons, with Darko the national team gets depth and if things work out right he could be the leader of the team in the next decade. Also, after refusing to come to the camp 2 years ago, he is learning just how much of a great experience this can be, and it will hopefully improve his confidence. He is surrounded by good, hard working players and a coach who is willing to give him a chance.

Slovenia lost it again. This was classic fight between centers: Brezec and Nesterovic, experienced NBA players, against SCG kids Milicic and Krstic. Darko Milicic finally showed why he deserves to be called under National flag. He scored 9 pts, but number of blocked shoots near his name is really impressive. This young man made 9 blocks and 6 rebounds for 30 minutes and proved that in future Serbian fans should not be afraid for centers with trio Krstic-Milicic-Perovic. If you add to them Rebraca, Tomasevic and Milojevic then it is not so hard to imagine what strength Serbian team will have under baskets on next European Championship. Tomasevic is still on rehabilitation, Rebraca missed this game too, but some rumors are saying that he will be ready for match with Lithuanians. Primoz Brezec was more then good in Slovenian team. This NBA center from Charlotte Bobcats dominated with 16 pts and 11 rebounds and showed that this team simply can not function without his help. Slovenians simply must find solution to synchronize guards both in offense and defense, or in other way they will have lot of problems. This tournament, against strong opponents, was the bingo for them in way to see what corrections they need to make. Aleksandar Pavlovic (Clevelad Cavaliers) was solid surprise for all people in Moraca; yesterday, but his performance even in first game against Croatia was on this level too. Obradovic will have super difficult mission to eliminate 2 players after these preparations, especially after Bojan Popovic' great role last night. Obviously that Serbian coach force team play, without so many jumpings from the system, but there still has to be done a lot in fast breaks and shoot from outside. Slovenia had 8 rebounds more then SCG, but that didn't help in situation when their shooting was under 37%.

Serbia and Montenegro: Jaric 3, Pavlovic 11, Gurovic 3, Radmanovic 12 (4 steals), Milicic 9 (6 rebounds, 9 blocks), Bodiroga 8, Avdlaovic, Rakocevic 4, Scepanovic 7, Bojan Popovic 7 (3 rebounds, 3 steals), Krstic 8, Milojevic 2 (7 rebounds).

Slovenia: Lakovic 3 (4 turnovers), Udrih 8 (3 steals), Nachbar 3, Jurak 5 (4 rebounds), Nesterovic 15 (5 rebounds), Capin, Becirovic 4, Lorbek 6, Milic 4, Maravic, Slokar 1, Brezec 16, Joksimovic 1

Ah, it's THAT Popovic. What's the name of the one from Hemofarm ? I thought his last name is also Popovic.

Hemofarm's player is Petar Popovic and he is center.
This guy in national team is Bojan Popovic...

He had a nice game against the milwaukee bucks with 10 pts 9 rebs 2 blks.

i watched him play today, he might get some nice stats but his offensive game flat out sucks, his man to man defense is pretty good though, and he help defends pretty well

he may not have much of an offensive game but he can pick up trash points well.
