Dal/Phx game 1

I'm still surprised that the Suns were able to come back and steal that game...
Why? It's not like the Mavericks were making any stops... this game totally had a "he who has the ball at the end wins" type of feel to it. Which is alright, I suppose, if you like that sort of thing...

I wasn't surprised by the Suns ability to continue to score as much as I was surprised by the Mavs failure to score. Late game execution against the Spurs is what got them to the WCF. To see them basically fall apart with turnovers and forced jump shots at the end of the game was what suprised me.

GO SUNS! Steven Nash killing his old team in the 4th quarter, what a beautiful thing to watch...

It may be fun this round to watch the Suns and Mavs go round and round, but I really, really don't want to see a Suns vs. Heat/Pistons final --- I don't think either match up would be much of a contest (but then again, I wasn't sure that the Suns would provide much resistance to the Mavs).

Is there any word yet on Bell or Howard? I guess it's too early. It would be a shame if the series was decided by injuries. I think Suns have had enough of those.

Ditto w/ the Mavs. We've lost our best defender and 3rd best scorer. He left the game last night on crutches...that can't be good. If we don't have Howard for game 2, that's the Suns best chance to steal another one in our home. And if that happens, bad things will follow...

latest word is that bell suffered a mild to moderate calf tear, expected to be out at least 5-7 days, maybe the rest of the playoffs. really tough break for the suns, who just got thomas back and is without amare. i have to see this as a good thing for the mavs. damn those mavs.

Would've been a good thing had we not lost Howard. But we're no better off.

Looks like Howard is day to day - I hope by "day to day" they mean he's coming back tomorrow. Or else the Mavs are in really big trouble...that's how much Howard means to this team.

i wonder who cuban blames for this loss???
I'm surprised by all the Cuban animosity on this board. If any other team's fans should understand this guy, it's the Kings who have probably the closest owners to Cuban in the league. I don't love Cuban, I don't even really like him, but I guess I don't understand all the hate because in the end the guy is just a passionate owner who is heavily invested in the success of his team - I think any team would love to have an owner like that. The Kings do, and I know I'm glad about that.

Say what now?

I don't recall ever seeing the Maloofs in the huddle.
I don't recall the Maloofs ever sending tape of calls that went against the Kings in to the league offices.
I don't recall the Maloofs using a web log as a forum to complain about the officiating.

That said, I have personally grown progressively less enamored with the Maloofs, but not even I would be so low as to compare them to Cuban.

Slim you said "I don't recall the Maloofs using a web log as a forum to complain about the officiating."

He didn't complain about the officiating, he was suggesting how to make the officiating BETTER on his blog. That blog entry was written well before the playoff matchups vs. the Spurs.

So, before it happened before last week, it doesn't count? I suppose you expect me to believe that Cuban has *never* used his web log as a forum to complain about officiating?

I mean I'm sure he has at one point or another. But if you're referring to the most recent incident I just wanted to point out that you were wrong. Other times? you're probably right.

I can't remember him being fined for writing something in his blog in seasons past but I wouldn't put it past him.
