ok outside of Petrie saying straight up "You can put that one to rest," ... "He's not going anywhere. You can lay that to rest. Some of that stuff lives in its own reality."
and countless other reports that state that the Kings are in full force shutting down every call that involves Cuz.

its strikes me as so silly and INSANE that we have people on this board and around the league that think that Petrie would ever entertain such garbage trades as i keep reading and hearing about... LOVE OR HATE petrie he's not an idiot. Honestly look at his resume

Petrie was almost flawless until 2005 when he made possibly his worst move ever. the Chris Webber trade. however keep in mind that Kenny Thomas was bad... but not as bad as we liked to think. Webber was on one leg with the mindset he was STILL an All-Star...and eventually the 76'ers paid him a massive amount of money to JUST LEAVE... so at least we didn't have to do that. The Bibby trade was also a bummer as well... but honestly i kinda look at that move like a "thank you" /service to bibby (still should have got a pick tho) to go be on a playoff team... we sure as hell weren't gonna to do anything that year and for awhile.

Petrie has an excellent record of being resourceful in finding gems via trade. hes won WAY more trades than lost THATS FOR SURE. Petrie is also a DRAFTING GENIUS ! find me someone else with a better record in the draft with the type of picks petrie had.

HERES ONE THING YOU ALSO CANT FORGET... THE MALOOFS ARE OFFICIALLY THE WORST OWNERS IN THE LEAGUE AND HAVE BEEN FOR SOMETIME. Petrie is doing a pretty good job working with these cheap douchbags. dont forget the Maloofs influence in making basketball moves. Im sure some of the moves made that we didn't like had MALOOF written all over them.... not GEOFF PETRIE...

Anyway heres a link to a few of the garbage trades i've been seeing. although this article has a K. Irvine for Cuz trade, and a Greg Monroe straight up trade in it. which are at least in the ball park of a Cousins type player... but seriously its all just a waste of time...

With years it becomes more clear that Petrie sought out players Adelman thought he could make work, Petrie went out and got them, then Adelman made it work. And then Adelman went out the door...

Yeah, it's frustrating. Petrie also seemed to be developing that rapport and trust with Westphal, and as much as I despised the style we played, it ain't much different now. You could make the argument (quietly, around here) that we might have picked the wrong pony in that race by keeping Cousins. I wouldn't go that far, but you could see a semblance of what they wanted- the execution was atrocious though, and that's the bottom line. Now, the transition once again falls on Petrie. All the musical chairs with coaches hasn't helped at all. No style=no philosophy.

In Amick's piece today (http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2013/01/07/sacramento-kings-demarcus-cousins/1816581/) he states: "The Kings continue to make it clear that both Cousins and second-year guard Jimmer Fredette are not available."

That's funny to me that the Kings (or more likely Amick) would lump the two in the same statement. You have to believe that both would be available if the price is right... Cousins' price is much higher of course, but to mention Jimmer and Cousins in the same sentence discredits the original statement that Cousins is unavailable... don't you think?

the only transition i've seen is- huge salary dump to the lowest in the league. stern tells the magoofs luxury tax sharing isnt meant as a way to profit. they spend bank on acquiring salmons, outlaw & hayes when we already had beno who worked well with reke, dalembert and the 7th pick.

as for the musical chairs...yeah, so tell me what head coach gonna come here and work for pennies on the dollar? lowest salary head coach in the league. nate mcmillan? stan van gundy? phil jackson? cmon bro, the owners are broke. nothing good is gonna happen. rumor has it we drafted trob bc they thought the maloofs couldn't afford to keep jt. thats how sad it has become around here. my gut feeling is they are gonna trade reke by the deadline.

Interesting you say that about tyreke. With the recent improved play, minus the last 2 games, its easy to see Evans being traded for keith bogans and a 2nd round pick.

Not to me. Jimmer is a player who probably does draw some interest so it's not usual for Amick to lump him with Cousins regarding trade denial. I don't believe either player is being shopped at the moment.

Oh yeah. Blame it all to the Maloofs and blah-blah-blah. We don't have a GM who is supposed to be guiding the Maloofs and this franchise.

Oh yeah, Petrie is a genius and blah-blah-blah. That is why the Kings haven't reach the NBA finals and the product on the court is so poor.

Oh yeah, there were no reports that Petrie wants Cousins out and blah-blah-blah. Everyone is lying except Petrie. And that is why the Maloofs (and not Petrie) had to put out a statement to intervene and defuse any rumors that Cousins is being shop by Petrie and Co - which was even before the slow and lazy GM was able to put one of his.

Oh yeah, just like you said "Petrie is doing a pretty good job working with these cheap douchbags." That is why the Kings has been known as regular bottom dwellers year after year for several years now.

Please stop this crap of yours, because for sure you will change your mindset again as you have done in the past.

You only have to see the state of this franchise to know how bad Petrie as a General Manager or whatever title it is that made him the top honcho in basketball in this franchise.

And now, even Cousins is talking about how bad this organization is.

No, it more likely indicates the Maloofs pulling the strings and Jimmer's importance -- in their little minds -- to marketing. Now why he's important to marketing I will leave you to figure out, but the implications might be icky and uncomfortable.
