lol the stat lines in the Jazz / Grizz game.

Bez Mbeng ain’t forgetting this one.

I looked him up, they made him play all 48 minutes in their last game to secure the L against New Orleans. This season might be the greatest tanking season of all time. Washington and Indiana both trading for broken down vets and padding their rosters with guys who will probably never play in the NBA again after this has been bad enough but Utah going 4-21 post All-Star break probably has them beat. This is a performance worth remembering! We'll see if Adam Silver's threats actually have any teeth or not.

He'll find a way to punish the Kings, too, somehow...

The Wizards starting lineup is like that Key & Peele sketch about player introductions.

That was a big game for the playoffs and Fox comes up short… spurs should’ve just played Wemby what does sitting him one game get you was this game gonna be the difference between healthy playoffs and not. Just crazy from them not not get denver into OKC side of the bracket when it’s right there for them

If San Antonio loses to Denver in Round 2, tonight has a chance to go down as one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen an NBA team do.

Resting Wemby & losing to a team sitting all of their best players when a single home win massively increases your title odds? I’m in shock…

So, if you were the Spurs, you would've risked losing Wemby to a potential freak injury for an extended period of time just for bracket positioning?
I'm sorry, but I don't think Pop gives much of a crap about bracket positioning as much as he does having a healthy, well-rested roster heading into the postseason.

They played the only guy on their team that matters, and San Antonio has been locked into the #2 seed for weeks. The only team that game mattered to was the team that won it.

If Denver had lost and the lakers won (which they did), they would have had to play Oklahoma City in the second round.

This game was absolutely meaningless to the Spurs. They are locked into the 2nd seed. I don't think they are remotely worried about who they face in the 2nd round.

He played last game and risked it for an individual award is a championship not worth more then DPOY

How’s it meaningless when you’re creating an easier path for yourself to the finals… how can you say it was meaningless if the spurs had four starters play the fourth till the buzzer sounded vs Denver’s C team. Fox and castle coming up short doesn’t mean the game didn’t matter especially when there playing deep into the 4th

While I do agree theres no guarantees Denver gets past the Twolves even if on paper they should twolves have had counters to Murray in particular who really is the Nuggets x factor but yeah having to go through OKC and Denver is crazy.

Again, do you think Pop values an easier path for his team more than he does having a healthy team to take with him to the playoffs?

YOU might care enough to want San Antonio to have an easier path to the finals, but I guarantee you that the Spurs don't.

Why do you keep mentioning Pop? Have you seen him lately? They gave him a title, but he has been on leave since the stroke.

What part about he is on leave is confusing? It's a title in name only. He's never going to work again.
Do you not think he and Mitch have talked about roster/load management heading into the playoffs? Do you not think that they have talked about coaching philosophies at all since his leave? Why does he have to actively "work" in order to have any degree of influence on his successor? I am sure he has Mitch on speed dial and Mitch has him on speed dial.

So they load manage game 82 not 81 like that would make a difference lol

It’s no guarantee but they could’ve guaranteed themselves to only playing one of OKC/denver

Rest game 82 > play an extra 1-2 games in the second round vs a better team lmao
Having a healthy and full roster heading into the playoffs > risking losing your star player to an injury because you care more about potential matchups.

If you don't understand something as simple and logical as that, then you don't understand roster management and coaching in professional sports.

What if while resting him and he's doing stretching in stead of normal routine then the medicene ball pops hurting his back?

What if he was helping with Easter dinner and cut his hand requiring stiches?

What if during warm ups the ball gets pinned between the rim and backboard and he sprains his ankle landing akwardley?

It's been known to happen!

You can only control what you can (directly) control.

You're acting like it's the same Pop from 10 years ago. The guy had a stroke at 75 years old 1.5 years ago. He's 77 now. From the video in January he can barely use his left side and walk.

Why did he play the game before? He needs to be rested and can’t risk his health was that game a guranteed injury free game somehow

You're acting like not being able to walk or use his left side automatically disqualifies him from picking up the telephone and speaking with Mitch Johnson and giving him coaching advice. Something that can be done either from the couch (sitting) or the bed (laying down).
