Coach Van Gundy Quote

Coach Van Gundy:
“We’re a better offensive team. We’re much quicker, we pass the ball better.”

Wow...I can't even remember an opposing teams coach saying that after playing us. Who believes this to be true?
 
Actually looking at this quote again...I think I took it out of context. I don't think he's saying that their team is a better offensive team than ours. I think he's commenting on the improvement in his own team. My apologies, I jumped the gun a bit in thinking he was taking a jab at us! :o
 
yea first time i read it was like whaaaa ? but no, hes probably talking about his team now compared to earlier...GRRR HE BETTER
 
Old dogs can learn new tricks. I didn't think Van Gundy had it in him but he was able to bend his coaching style. Rockets are now scoring over a 100 more often than not. My opinion of him as a coach just rose considerably. If we could bring him or his brother to the Kings somehow, it would be terrific. They added offense to their defensive games. There's 2 coaches that I'll say are better than RA. Too bad they aren't available.

Not Van Gundy's Style ...

He's not a trash talker nor is he one to "throw stones" .... probably comes from having to deal with the NY press, where he spent many-many years early in his career.

Actually he and PJ used to get into it, but that was, as always, intiated by the swarmy Zen ******* himself.
 
I just can't get the image of Van Gundy draped around the leg of player during that fight.

Was it Alonzo Mourning? Someone help me with this!

Yes it was. And its been very hard to take the little man seriously ever since. ;)

(If you remmeber he also got himself clocked and sent to the hospital by his own player (Camby) when he tried to jump into another fight a few years later).
 
Houston is gaining momentum at the right time of the season to actually make waves in the post season. They are playing really well. They beat SA and Phoenix. Man, wish I was saying that about us. Sad.
 
..just to put it into a little better perspective, this is what JVG said next..

“It’s hard. Bibby’s so good at it and Mobley a better pick-and-roll player than most people realize. They stretch the floor with three guys that can make the three.”

I was gonna say...that was definetly taken out of context cuz JVG would never say something like that
