Climbing Up in the West

Folsom Al

Starter
Phoenix loses again ... this time to Detroit ... again w/o Nash ... 4 L's in-a-row.

In a post-game interview, C-Webb has the team with goals of winning the West.
That's the kind of talk we need. C-Webb has shown he's walkin'-the-talk. He wants that #1 seed when the regular season comes to an end.

Let's hope our King's stay RELATIVELY healthy, and continue to improve.

Point taken. Its all up to health on this team. Unfortunately years of experience and bad luck has hit us :(.

What is the projected time Nash will be out and what is his injury again?

Thigh injury and I am not sure when he will come back. But they did say he will be out until he is completely healed.

Twolves lose again.. this time to the Raptors. Hope Jazz beat the other LA team tonight. That would be so sweat.... :)

This injury could well end up being a blessing in disguise for the Suns, since Nash perenially runs out of steam during the latter part of the season. If they keep him benched until he's completely healed, he just might be able to last through the playoffs.

Even once nash is back the Suns are exposed now, expect nach to face serious presure once he returns. I don't see the secnod half of the season being as kind to the Suns as the first half has been.

I'm surprised that Nash hasn't already been facing tremendous pressure from opposing defenses. Nash makes that team "go," take him out of the picture, or at least try to and have the rest of the Suns try to beat you.

Sometimes it takes an obvious in your face to make folks take notice. I think most defences were playing the Suns striaght up with the standard double teams (usualy on Amere or Mason) I suspect teams will begin to run their offense at Nash more, try to creat foul problame or tire him out trying to defend and throw presure on him on inbouds and in 1/2 court traps, forcing the ball out of his hands. I would not even mind seeing inintional early fouls on Nahs to take him out of plays.

On sports center they said it looked like 4 more games before Nash gets back.

he barely scores 12 points a game.... he just gets 11 assists a game as well, maybe defenses should focus on stopping amare from dunking on them 5 or 6 times a game...

Now that opponents have seen for themselves how truly vulnerable the Suns are without Nash, I expect him to receive a lot more attention from some of the less savory teams *cough Utah cough* in the West. Talk about having a target on your back...

I dont see the Suns going far in the playoffs ... there lack of size in the West is gonna kill them ... anyways i think the Kings and the Spurs are the best in the West right now ... it will all come down to who has less injury , as of now , B-Jax is out for us , and Manu G. is out for the Spurs ... we have a good shot , baring be dont have to play the Clippers (they kill for rebounds) for the rest of out game we will rebound well and continue to play good D...

And that IS my point beceause Nash is not a big scorer defenses have not focused on him, but what happens is once you double up on anyone that greasy Canadian gets the ball to the open man, hence my suggestion that focusing on him early in a possesion to get the ball out of his hands is a smart defensive move.

As for VF 21's suggestion that some of the less scruplous teams may put a bounty out on his head... shall we start a pool as to which player will land the first blow? ;)

Well, if SportsCenter is right, the Kings are going to have to earn the top spot on their own merit. They reported that Nash is hoping to return Wednesday. Actually, I just checked the Suns' website and it had this little snippet: "Nash was injured early in the second quarter of Friday's 101-83 loss at Indiana. He said before Monday's game that he expects to play Wednesday at home vs. Memphis."

take away those 11 assists, and there wont be 5 to 6 amare dunks a game. and 11 assists a game aint nothin to scoff at. thats really rather impressive. he makes the offense click. w/o him, they are in a state of disarray, literally just as bad as they were last season. he's been the key for them all thru this season. after 4 straight losses, 3 of which i believe were suffered w/o nash, this should be very apparent.

without Nash, Suns are nothing but another Warriors.

But I really wanna see Kings beat them again, again, and again with a healthy Nash.

If My Memory Serves Me Right ...

Our King's didn't have a problem staying in front of Nash ... it was my wife's Alma Mater fellow alumni ... Cinci Bearcat that gaves us nightmares ... I'm talkin' about Van Exel. Man, I hated him ... let's see how Bibby/Mobley/Evans do tonight against Slick Nick !!!
