Okay, I am writing this in part for my own self-therapy after the Bibby injury. Having said that, I think that we need to remember cities less fortunate than us, such as Cleveland.
Cleveland's recent loss in the ALCS to the BoSox is just another disappointment in a long list of disappointments for that city that cannot seem to get over the hump.
*Just recently, there the Cavs were embarrassed last spring by the Spurs in the effort to bring a title to the city.
*From 1995 - 1997 the Indians probably had the best team in baseball, but they could not muster a World Series pennant. In fact, in 1997 they held a 2-1 lead with 1 out in the 9th inning of game 7 against the Marlins, yet they ended up losing. Damn that's gotta hurt.
*There is "The Shot" by MJ in 1989 dashing the Cavs hopes; the Cavs had 8 playoff appearances and 3, 50 wins seasons around those years, but alas, no title. (sounds kind of familiar)
*The Cleveland Browns: well there are almost too many disappointments to write about here. However, a couple of lowlights include Elway's "the Drive" to beat the Browns in the 1986 AFC Championship game and "The Fumble" which lead the Broncos over the Browns again in the 1987 AFC Championship game.
*Speaking of the Browns, the poor Cleveland fans lost their beloved Browns as they snuck out of town in the dead of night destined for their new home in Baltimore. The fans of Cleveland then eventually had the pleasure of watching their old team win a Super Bowl as the Ravens.
It seriously painful being a sports fan in Cleveland.
