Cleveland Training Camp (a little annoying for us)

Don't Make Me Use The Bat
So here we are in Sacto looking for another big body, and so we have invited a variety of big man training camp fodder suspects such as Anwar Ferguson, Lonnie Jones, and now Luke Schenscher. Classic training camp invites with no NBA experience.

Meanwhile, over in Cleveland where they are also looking for a big man, here are the training camp bigs they've invited:
1) Jahidi White (7 yrs experience)
2) Zendon Hamilton (5 yrs experience)
3) Obina Ekezie ( 4 yrs expereince)
4) Mengke Bateer (3 yrs experience)

We're digging around the unknown scrapheap and they get not one, not two, not three, but FOUR established NBA journeymen to come to their camp?? How's that work?

That is not fair. Those are not too shabby of peopel compared to what the Kings got. Jahidi White is much better than we got in training camp compared to Luke or Sampson.

That's why I kept mentioning Hamilton all August/Sept. long (along with Stepania and Stewart), he's a solid exp. big.

Ekezie is a nice big player, but he's a PF, but also has nice skills at 6'9" 240. So don't quite think he's in our needs unless Skinner or Thomas are traded, and I doubt Ekezie makes the Cavs anyways because of their PFs already there (Marshall/Gooden/Henderson). I guess he could be an undersized center, but White/Hamilton have the best chances to make for an extra center, which is the purpose of that group of guys. I'd say Hamilton will make it out of them. I don't think White, because of his weight, which prevented him from getting a guar. deal all summer.

Bateer I've heard nothing about, know he is Asian though.

They are also looking for a backup. NOT A THIRD STRINGER LIKE US! Who ever they sign on is going to be getting major minutes.

Zendon Hamilton tonight:

10 pts (8-9 FT, 1-1 FG), 6 boards, 1 block, 1 PF. 7 minutes.

Had a good game the other night too: 13 pts (5-5 FGs), 7 boards, 1 PF in 14 minutes.

I knew I was right about that guy all August and September. If this keeps up, he'll def. be Cavs back-up.

The Caves can't sign them all... maybe, just maybe GP can pick up one of the left overs for a song...

Cavs only need to sign one. Only guy who would be good for us is Hamilton, and he's doing the best out of them all (Bateer was released). Ekezie is a solid big, but he's a PF/C and 6'9". We already have Skinner, who is bigger in overall size and better I'd say. White is pretty good, but 6'9", so who knows there.

I think Sampson will be the big man to make the team for us, and will play similar like for the Bobcats. Which was real good.
