lol i thought the exact same thing. stupid yahoo boxscore is messed up again. but then i saw the score on nbatv. dude this was a 60 game win with LBJ, and without him...25 pts total in the first half
As a suffering Kings fan, at least we haven't had a beatdown like this, at least this season. Cavs did avoid the record for fewest points scored and looks like it will avoid biggest point differential too.
People who wanna claim Kobe is better than lebron can now easily see what kind of trash he had to deal with. Kobe misses a season, the lakers will still make the playoffs. Lebron is off the cavs now, worst team in the league.

Yep. It made me laugh how last season, Lakers fans would try to pimp LeBron's "supporting cast" and try to say it was comparible to what Kobe has on the Lakers.

I don't know that either of those statements is true though. I doubt the Lakers would make the playoffs without Kobe. They'd still have Gasol and Odom but the rest of their team has been inconsistent and/or injured much of the year. They'd be fighting for a 7th or 8th seed perhaps with all the problems going on in Denver and Portland but it's not a given that they'd make it. And if you look at who played for Cleveland last night, it's not even close to the team that Lebron played with even last season. He played with Mo Williams for two years, Jamison for two months, and then Moon and Hickson played limited minutes but the rest of that team is different. It's just not a fair comparison to make.
Of course they'd make the playoffs, and they'd be a "Top 4" team, too: there's no chance that any team in the Pacific, this season, could finish with a better record than the gd lakers, with or without Bryant. Absolutely no chance whatsoever.
We can disagree on whether the Lakers would or would not make the playoffs without Kobe Bryant but anyone who tells me this is the same Cavs team that Lebron played with is just talking crazy. Manny Harris? Alonzo Gee? Samardo Samuels? That's three out of four guys who played 30+ minutes in that game. Ryan Hollins was the only center on their active roster and they had three PFs, none taller than 6'9". Yes the Cavs are pretty terrible without Lebron, and would have been terrible without him the past 7 years too, but they're not this terrible without him. So that one game proves nothing other than Cleveland is still a terrible organization and drafting Lebron only partially disguised it for a little while.
Maybe the thread title threw things off but my opinion of what I think the rosters are capable of was not based off what happened in la and who was playing.

Agreed, the lakers without kobe would still be a top 3 team in the west. And thats almost certain. People don't realize that Pau is the engine that drives the lakers. When he was going through his funk due to fatigue, thats where they loss 4 in a row and then 3 in a row again later. With Pau and Bynum (when healthy), there aren't many teams that can stop them.
Without kobe also means Pau would actually get more touches and shots like he has mentioned he wants. The lakers lose when the perimeter guys like kobe doesn't get the ball inside. Phil jackson has said that after almost every loss that they need to get the ball inside more.
This Cavs team is mostly the same as last year except for Shaq, West and Z. Shaq played only limited mins most of the time and Z hardly played when he went back to the Cavs. West is not a factor for any team. With Lebron, they were able to finish with the best record or near the top every year for the last 3 years. Without LeBron, the Cavs are last place. This tells LeBron haters how good he really is and why they lose in the playoff.
