The way I see it the team has just scratched the surface of learning to play w each other. It can only get better, right? I know, I know don't get to high on the start.

Chemistry is one aspect of the game you can't cosch. Malone can facilitate to create situations where better on-court chemistry by the plares themselves becomes easier, or not. It unfortunately is a long process, one, two, even three years assuming a core group stays together during that time. Just watch the passing by the Spurs to see what is chemistry. It is starting to show on the Kings, a tiny bit in only 10 games. Lets see how it goes 40 games in and at the end of the year and next year. Then we should see real progress and who are the best rotation based on chemistry.and on BB skills and on BBIQ.

We have to figure out how to keep cuz on the floor. His defense is much improved and that aggressive play is the reason for the foul troubles. If he could take away the offensive fouls and the frusrtation fouls the rest would be fine.

The good things is we have a core now that is proving can win in the NBA. DMC signed long term, Collison signed for 3 years, Ben, Carl, JT, Rudy you would have to think would love to re sign since we can pay him more and we are a team on the rise, and as a family man has mentioned he is looking for a place to settle. Then you have guys like Omri who can easily be signed, Sessions can easily be traded and we will have cap space next summer to go after maybe a starting caliber PF, moving JT to backup C, and some other role players to fill out the bench.
So your core is

DMC
Rudy
DC
Ben
Carl
Nik
JT
Ray Mac

and Casspi is showing that he deserves to be part of the core, or is already part of it

I don't know how to embed gifs... but there have been a couple amazing Casspi gifs. One where he is tweaking DMC's headband, another where he is holstering imaginary guns after Evans made a jumper. He seems like a TREMENDOUS locker room guy - a cool, tough guy - a man's man. When you want to establish some chemistry... just the right kind of guy.

When you can see that the guys really love each other, then you start to love them like a family. We're going down that road again like in '99 I think. It is awesome and Casspi is no little piece of it

100%. He's "bought in" to the culture change and is leading by example, on and off the court. Ironically, on a side note, an extra 'action' that signified where he is mentally, was him "buying in" and investing in the new Sacramento soccer franchise, as soon as he was signed. Combined with some of the smaller details and "actions" like you mentioned....gives insight to how focused and locked in he is, as to what this team needs from him. All the while keeping it realistic and within his capabilities. No hero ball.

He wants to be here, plans on being here, and will do whatever the team needs him to do. Most importantly, he's exceeding anyone's perceptions of who he was as a player and does it in a completely positive way as a team guy. Proving that you can be a tough player and a team guy at the same time. Just like Reggie Evans, but with his own flair and style. Our chemistry leaders right now are Casspi, Evans, and Collison.

These are the kinds of stories that truly inspire a team and are the root of great chemistry. Not only has the "narrative" changed, but reality itself has been transformed

Almost all of the complimentary pieces have stepped up this year.
-JT has been REALLY good defensively with the glaring exception of a single defensive stand with .3 seconds left in the game.
- Casspi has been running all over the place.
- Landry has been a steady scoring weapon off the bench.
- McLemore seems to have just regained his ability to make wide open shots. He's playing within his ability and appears as though he's starting to figure out the timing needed to make plays. Defensively He's looked VERY fundamentally sound. Ben might be the biggest surprise for me so far. This is the mold of player that Ben needs to continue to fill into.
- Collison is probably the key to this revolution. Defensively he puts a lot of pressure on the ball. He always looks to take advantage of transition situations. He definitely understands his personnel.

I just can't believe that we were crushing Dallas and Memphis, gave huge leads away in both games, and then came back home and beat the Spurs. The Spurs. We are very easily a 8-2 team during a stretch of games against the best teams in the western conference. Once again we've put together a team of misfit players that looks poised to be the surprise team of the year.

Casspi is that rare guy who would rather be a role player in the NBA than a star in Europe.

Maybe these players were not really "misfits" at all, but were just misused? I don't know, but the front office deserves a lot of credit all ready, even though it's still "early"
I can see that in this team. As someone who grew up in the Detroit-area with the teams of Chauncey, Rip, Tayshaun, and the Wallaces, I can see some similarities. Bunch of guys who all the analysts counted out for whatever reason coming together and winning a lot of games.

Pete D'Allensandro absolutely MUST get credit for finding players that would complement each other. You don't have team chemistry without having someone in the front office working hard to ensure that pieces fit. At this point I think it's time to quit calling him "gerbil" - he's earned it.

who can set up the profanity filter to replace "gerbil" :)

well in order to have the chemistry that playoff teams have, you need continuity with your teammates...as long as the core of this team stays in tact with Cousins, Rudy, Collison and possibly Ben? the chemistry will only continue to grow as the season wears on.

credit when its due PDA has done well. The next few moves though are vital. Get that right and we are there. Promised land

This term chemistry has always bothered me when it comes to basketball. It is sometimes the first thing people want to talk about if they know little about the game. Players need to respect each other, and be willing to work for each other. They don't need to be friends. Chemistry happens after the respect is gained and the guys know each others strengths. I don't think it is mysterious and hard to figure out.

The Kings seem to have more of it than in past years. A lot of "chemistry" boils down to team defense and desire.
