Candace Parker's retirement means that Diana Taurasi and DeWanna Bonner are the only remaining WNBA players** who ever played a game for or against the Sacramento Monarchs.



** Kristi Tolliver has not yet officially announced her retirement, but she has taken a job as associate head coach for the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, which would void her contract as a player for the Washington Mystics.

I still very much miss the Monarchs.

I’m quite peeved that freaking Toronto and now SF were awarded expansion franchises and prioritized over the return over of what was (and still would be) a successfully supported franchise.

Shame on the NBA/WNBA.
