There's a lot of owners currently worse than Vivek and most of them acquired the teams more recently. It's part of buying a billion dollar toy and wanting to play with it. Vivek has settled into the mid-tier pretty clearly, the only thing in his way right now is he is so committed to winning every year he won't take two steps back to go five steps forward.

Nick Nurse is back. Willie Green is back. Billups is back. I don’t think any of the playoff teams will fire their coach unless the Knicks get bounced super early. As of right now you have the following openings:
Suns- not desirable unless you want to get fired after a year and not have to work for the rest of your life. Allegedly won’t seek veteran coach.
Denver- since it’s Joker they have to open up the search beyond David. He only gets the gig if they make the West finals.
Spurs- easily the most desirable job. Generational talent, stable franchise.
Kings? I assume Doug gets the job but does Vivek open up the search because there are so few openings?
Fired guys looking for a job:
Mike Brown- Spurs are a possibility given the connections there. If not in SA, don’t see a fit in Denver, Phx or obviously the Kings
Coach Bud- maybe Denver
NYPD Blue- no to Kings or Suns, obviously not Denver. That could mean Spurs or bust
Jenkins- Denver or Spurs could work.
if Jenkins gets the Spurs job, things get interesting for Malone. May be out of a job to start the next season.

If Vivek is the one in charge of picking the next head coach we are truly and utterly screwed. He needs to just fire McNair and appoint himself as owner/GM at that point. Might as well cut out the middle man and make himself the coach too actually.

I do find it baffling that after adding two pass first PGs and a excellent rookie defender the team somehow got worse impressive stuff from the Suns.
