Denver has fired coach Brian Shaw, league source tells Yahoo Sports.



Looks like the whole firing the coach of the year thing has worked out great for the Nuggets.

Denver is in full-on tank mode. They've won 2 of their last 21! Even the Sixers have won 5 of their last 21 and the Knicks have won 7. Given what they've been doing lately they probably didn't even need to fire Shaw, but I doubt they care to win another game for the rest of the season.

Shaw not a good coach. Saw a tweet that listed the Phil Jackson coaching tree. None of them are remotely close to a .500 record.

Depending on who they hire as a replacement could indicate what they are going to do here.

A rookie coach could mean a full scrap and rebuild, keep the popcorn ready on draft night.

This was long over due. They pulled a page out of the Kings front office....why not just wait it out until the off season. They aren't going to keep their interim anyway, but at least the tank is strong in the Mile High City.
