Brevin Knight

Do you think the King's could use Brevin Knight?

The Charlotte Bobcats have waived Brevin Knight.
Given the uncertainty of whether Jeff McInnnis will return next season, this move leaves Raymond Felton without a legitimate backup and will force the team to go out and sign someone to run the second unit. Knight, scheduled to earn more than $4 million next season, had a $1.5-million buyout clause in his deal. It seems strange that the Bobcats didn't select a point guard in the draft, knowing they would do this today, but we have to assume they have something else up their sleeves. Jun. 29 - 1:54 pm et

to many red flags with him. we are going younger and so this wouldnt make sense. i could see us giving him a look if we were a playoff team but not with this roster. I would offer him a 1 yr contract at the most

I ABSOLUTELY love Brevin Knight (no surprise)- he is one of my favorite players in the NBA. But I question whether we would have any need for him at all. And I question whether he would want us (other than returning to Northern California).

He is one of those guys who brings eye-popping steals numbers without a lot of actual defense (sort of all sizzle no steak on defense). Brevin is one of the better pure point guards in the league, and his assist per 48 numbers are really really good. But he is not really an energy guy, and not a scorer. I am not sure the benefit of bringing a guy like that off of our current bench.

If we moved Bibby for some young pieces, and needed a vet to help groom a young point guard, I do this in a heartbeat, but to pay him to back up Bibby, I dunno, I would rather try out a younger guy.

I have a feeling he ends up on a contender, being the pure point guard to come in off the bench and give some rest to the run-and gun starter. Makes a TON of sense for San Antonio...

do you really see douby or price as the future starting pg for this team?

blake would be cool if we could trade bibby for a big... or just trade him period...

i could see knight going to miami... the need a pg like they need air.....

he will miss 40 games on any team due to injury....will miss 60 on the Kings due to our Indian burial curse

injury prone...no thank you...good player though when not injured

we dont need to trade Bibby to get him... just offer him a MLE and he would work perfectly as a back up for Bibby

I love Brevin Knight, but we need to develop our young players. There's really no room for him right now. He's a backup PG or a temporary fill-in starter and we already have Ronnie Price and Quincy Douby. They're never going to get any better unless they play so either we give up on them now, or we let them play. Even if Bibby leaves, Brevin Knight just buys you time until you can find your next starting PG of the future either in the draft or in a trade.

what he said :) pointless in acquiring a vet when we need to develop our young talent. i don't know if price is willing to sit at the end of the pine a few more years watching when he could be on another team getting some PT. :)

Personally I would like to see us give Douby and Garcia more playing time at PG. I always thought it would be nice to have Garcia at the point since he is so long and is a defensive minded player. Douby although hes obviously more of a SG, id like to see how well he does as one of our main ball handlers. The good thing about playing either of these guys at PG is that we have a few other guys who are good at bringing the ball up the court, so the PG doesn't have to always do it. Then again, frankly I wish we had taken Rondo over Douby, but its too late to do anything about that.
