Brad and Reggie love

Entity

Hall of Famer
I figured we should create a thread showing some love for Brad Miller. Following his most recent Double-Double and the emphatic dunk against the Grizzles I wondered how he compared to last year. Last season Miller had exactly 3 double-doubles and he only had 10 games with double digit rebounds.

This year 13 double-doubles already and 15 games with double digit rebounds.

This is where this thread switches to Theus. This season you can see how excited the team is the whole game and they act as if they want to give 100%. Last year not so much. reguardless of record or injury's Theus looks to be a coach that is making the transition into the NBA nicely. When we get the starters back and we can get close to a .500 record I think Reggie could be coach of the year. They said he was 3rd on the list right now on TNT the other night. Yeah if anyone stayed tuned after the game thursday night Charles and Kenny were giving some props to REggie how even with his man 3 guys out he is competitive every night and is in complete control. How many first year coaches would keep their composure and do as well with their top 3 players on the shelf?

I'm impressed with Brad and I'm impressed with Reggie. I'm also impressed with how the team seems to be listening to what Reggie says and focusing on the basics.

If this teams end with 42+ wins this season I don't know how you could not give him the award. I don't know who else is in the race. Doc Rivers (don't need to coach that lineup much), SVG (can't win at home), Phil Jackson (maybe, but he's a hall of famer already).

No other coach has proven that he can take a weak lineup, suffer the worst injuries of any other team in the first half of the season and still come up with ways to win against top tier teams.

I.E.: Phoenix losing 108-86 w/o Nash and Marion. Amare had 21 and 14, imagine how ugly that game would have been if they didnt have him either. This speaks a lot towards what Reggie is doing with lineup without our big 3!

Although Coach Theus will have a tough time figuring out how to use the minutes, this team will be pretty deep and a solid 9 man rotation with Bibby/Beno/Martin/Salmons/Garcia/Salmons/Artest/Mikki & Brad.

When SVG said Reggie Theus was "top 3" in the running for NBA coach of the year it's generally thought he had Portland's Nate McMillan high on that list. Maybe he had himself up there as well. If the Trail Blazers make the playoffs McMillan is probably going to be tough for Reggie to beat for the honor no matter where the Kings end up - unless seeded ahead of Portland. The Blazers finished 32-50 last season after compiling the leagues worst record 21-61 in 05-06. So far this season they're in first place in the N.W. Division at 22-13. Considering East Coast bias, Doc Rivers has a built in edge and probably a shoe-in if the Celts capture or tie the all-time best NBA regular season record. GO REG!! GO KINGS!!

I happen to think that Nate McMillan is doing a fantastic job in Portland this year. He would have to be in serious contention for the coach of the year as well.

I personally think that Nate and Reggie are the ones showing thier worth as coaches. Doc has arguably most talent than any other team in his starting 5. Its easy to be a good coach when you have the great cattle. Reggie and Nate have been dealing with a lot more than Doc this year.

Yeah I forgot about Nate. If Portland continues their current success then I think he might have it in the bag. Unless Reggie leads this team to a playoff birth with one hell of a finish to the season.

I like Reggie better than any previous Kings coach, including Rick Adelman. Every time he is interviewed, he comes up with something interesting, a reasonable perspective. He actually coaches, substitutes freely, and seems to get the most out of apparent role players. He is preparing a bowl of chicken soup.

That's why I like Reggie as well. He would make one hell of a politician if he was to go into that field later in life. As for him coaching I couldn't agree more w/ the above.

I'll pile on the love. After ripping him last season, he's certainly back to his old self now and playing up to his own standards.

LOTSA LOVE FOR BRAD!!!

He's earned it.
