Bottom Line About The Kings...

I have been reading these forums for months and finally decided to post...everyone gets mad when someone makes a post about their Kings not playing well...I am a huge kings fan...I LOVE the kings...but the bottom line is they are just not good enough....at least not playing good enough...look at their faces when they play, it seems the other team jsut wants to win more than them every night, whether it be the Suns or the Bulls.....the Kings DO NOT play like a champion...they havent blown out a team for months, they play too calm and never close out opponents, if this team doesn't change how they are playing and start hustling and playing better we will be dropping down in the standings quick....but ill put it to you this was I rather play Seattle than the Mavs.....so a 6 seed wouldn't be too bad...although Seattle has killed us durign the regular season I think we can beat them in the playoffs...tehy have no real inside presence and are a 3-point shooting team...as logn as we REBOUND (which we almost never do) we should beat them no problem...

I just love it when new members come on and immediately profess they are HUGE Kings fans and then proceed to rip on the team.

havent blown out a team for months? look at who they been playing recently! if you expect us to blowout the mavs/suns/bulls than you havent been watching much basketball lately playa! look in their faces they dont want to win? i remember a 94-84 win agains the twolves without a webber, peja and bobby jackson. facts playa facts! go get urs straight and than come back

i just don't understand what blowing out teams has to do with anything....sure blowing out teams is great...its fun to watch...but ill take a win plain and simply...if we could win by 1/2 point id take it

heres the thing about all of you attacking my post right now...esp VF21 who loves to ALWAYS defend the kings.....im not attacking our team im trying to point out reality for you fans that think that the season is all positive and everything great must happen...NO...teams go through slumps....but you cant just ignore it and make a thread like "the positives vs. the bulls, vs. the nets, vs. the sonics, vs. the suns, vs. the mavs, no you can't do that....you need to understnad what's wrong with the team to make the team better...all you people that just post postive thngs and get mad when something negative is posted need to start actually understanding basketball and not just saying you like the kings all the time....I have been a fan since I moved here in 1991 and just cuz I can admit that the team is having too many problems right now and needs to step up and beat some teams doesn't mean the whole forum of you "kings fans" should attack me cuz im speaking the truth..

The season aint all positive. As I said before we have obvious weaknesses, we all point them out - Rebouding and Defense. Posts that continue to slam specific players or coaches are pretty worthless IMO and get kinda old.

As a fan you root for what you have, You have the right as a fan to knock your team, thats what fans do. But to say (not point to you) cat or peja is a cancer is just a statement of ignorance. So the Kings fans that have been fans even during the bad years tend to say WTH. I have been a fan since 85/86 around that year. You will never see me post a thread saying so and so is a cancer. Maybe thats just me, only one team wins it all every year.

Dude if u come to a Kings board and say that they are not good enough, you would be mad to believe that you will be treated kindly. We know that our team has been having a bad run, but we still believe that it has the capability to win it all. If things like injures and a little bit of luck favour the Kings I strongly believe that they can win it all!

Your truth means pretty much bs to me.

I know the Kings are better than what they have been playing of late. I rather have them going into a slump now than later. And this last 10 games is nothing when playoff comes around.

As far as I'm concern aslong as the Kings gets to the playoff everything is still great in Kings land.

c-mobbs is right. you just can't always say positive things. sometimes you have to take constructive critisism to suceed. I am a diehard kings fan, but the realization is that we have problems and they need to be corrected if we are going to win a championship.

im not bashing but how can you be not pissed?...you seriously think they are giving it their all?...that's the point they are so much better than how they have been playign...that's the point...they need to step it up and take games seriously...they don't hustle on the boards and rarely run for the lose ball, etc.......they are getting payed millions for doing their jon and playing ball and they have great potential but have not been showing it...stop beign ignorant fans shouldn't care or worry more for basketball than the players who are getting payed millions...realize that..

Actually c-mobbs I somewhat agree with you, we can't always name positives about losing games, because a LOSS IS A LOSS. Are we going to name positives when it matters the most later in the year? No. We aren't going to be naming positives about losses when it comes playoff time are we?

Now on the other side if you look at the teams we have played against this year, the top contenders in the west the Kings have actually done well. We have played well against the Suns, Spurs, Sonics, Rockets, & the Mavericks. The only blowout we really suffered from these teams is Seattle and San Antonio (but we have beaten the Spurs @ Arco). But if you look at the scores we were close in other games. The bottom line is, Kings better get their act together and start closing out these games, instead of fouling so much and not rebounding the ball. I know us Kings fans need to support our Kings, and I know we are tired and are in a slump right now, but what's going to happen when it comes to the last month of basketball. Are we going to get tired again? Are we going to go on a slump and end up being a low seed in the playoffs? Obviously if we get tired at the All-Star break, we will go on a major slump again, which is NOT GOOD going into the playoffs, which leads to losses. If you think I'm wrong, then I don't know what else to say.

Yup and true constructive vs bashing are 2 different things

Yes, and many people don't seem to understand that fact.

Examples of constructive criticism: (all opinions...and not necessarily my own)

1. Peja should work harder at going after rebounds and not hedge out to the other end of the court.

2. CWebb should look to pass more or get to the basket when his jump shot is not falling.

3. I would like to see Tag playing more to try and clog the lane. We let too many guards just waltz to the basket.

Same examples in a bashing style:

1. Peja is so fricken lazy. He's a wuss who is afraid to get bumped so he won't go in after rebounds.

2. CWebb is such a team cancer. He thinks the whole team is about him. Pass the friggen ball, stupid.

3. Adelman is so lame. He can't even figure out the Tag should be helping us clog the lane. Our front court is so bad that everyone waltzes by their lazy a**** to the hoop.

Members who use constructive forms of criticism are welcome. Members who badmouth OUR KINGS should find somewhere more suitable to their style for posting.

Do not expect to come here, call other members ignorant, because the disagree with you, or because they would rather see the positive than constantly complain and be negative, and expect to be here long. Belittling others is not what KingsFans.com is all about.

You think attacking us is gonna help to prove your point. There is another thread just down the way that talks about the King's issues. We all see it, we are not blind and we talk about it in a cival manner. But we are fans aka Fanatics.

I think we all see the same issues, I think a lot here including me just want constructive posts, factual posts, posts that trigger discussion not posts that are meant to flame players we have or people on this forum. That stuff is really beyond our control.

Not all trolls use the obvious names like "thekingssuk"... Stealth trolls ALWAYS sign on with Kings-type names and it is almost in their little troll bible to use the "HUGE Kings fan" comment in their post, while they do everything possible to stir controversy and get us arguing with each other.

I'm locking this thread. We have a lot of GOOD threads going right now about various aspects of the team, what we think they need, etc. This one isn't necessary.
