Kings sign Hawes, rookie free-agent to contracts

The Kings signed first-round draft pick Spencer Hawes and free-agent rookie Mustafa Shakur to contracts, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. However, in accordance with the league's collective bargaining agreement, Hawes will earn between $1,352,400 to $2,028,600 the 10th overall pick.
The former University of Washington center will see his first action as a member of the Kings at the NBA Las Vegas Summer League next week.
Shakur is also a rookie out of Arizona, where he played point guard and earned Pac-10 Conference honorable mention. The 6-foot-3 Shakur averaged 10.1 points per game and 5.1 assists in 131 games for the Wildcats.
Shakur will also play in the summer league for Sacramento.
