I understand what you are saying. His shots won't always drop though and you don't want him to be content with shooting perimeter jump shots, he needs to have a fall back plan. What better way than getting 6-8 points in the paint? and not just based off taking his man off the dribble. I know it seems as if I'm nitpicking, maybe I am...however, smart teams will know how to defend him and go small and play athletic players and then what's he going to do? pull a game like he did versus Miami & Golden State? I hope it's not the norm, that's all.

While I prefer Cousins in the post, I understand him (and other post players) spending less time there. It seems like refs are calling fewer fouls on post moves, especially when the other player is smaller.

So in that case, maybe get a hook shot down? or maybe a floater? he doesn't necessarily have to be under the basket to get it done.

Cousins has a variety of moves in the post and is effective playing there. I think it's more about spending fewer possessions in the post so he doesn't get beat up as much.

I beg to differ on that one. he has a nice spin move from time to time but I'm not seeing much else besides trying to bulldoze your way through your opponents chest, which is forbidden these days anyway. So whenever the team needs a point, he is 9 out of 10 times setting a quick screen and rolling to the three. Live and die by the jumper I suppose.

I happen to think Cuz has the best footwork of any big I've ever seen. At least a power big. And You want him to develop a floater or hook shot? What a waste of his strengths in those two cases. He isn't a quick guard and he doesn't have extreme length. Power suits just fine and no it isn't forbidden

While I agree that Cousins has very good footwork, Hakeem had the best footwork I have ever seen.

That shouldn't be the barometer that is set here. There are players that have that in their arsenal and they may not possess the length you speak of

Hakeem wasn't a power big

He may have primarily used his quickness and agility, but he could play the power game as well. He is the best center I have seen play (my opinion). I've only seen highlights of Wilt and Kareem during the later part of his career.

I'll admit, the people who are still wanting Cousins to "change", rather than just accept and love the guy and be grateful for his completely irrational loyalty to us, are, to me, beginning to sound like nags.

Yeah yeah I get it, you all know just exactly how to change DeMarcus, if you could, and he would then become the perfect player, leader, whatever. Guess what. That is not how people work. It's not how you work.

If you want to remove the part of Cousins that fights with refs, you don't know what else you are going to lobotomize. You can't just brain surgery out what you perceive to be a person's negative traits.

My suggestion is learn to love it. Learn to view it with a sense of humor. Dont be so sure that what you are seeing is the whole, true picture. Don't use that one thing as the reason we haven't been to the playoffs in 12 years, why we almost moved to Seattle, or whatever other reason Andy Furillo is projecting onto Cousins for why the world isn't perfect.
