away games are in HD.. what the heck???

reid1boys

G-League
I noticed this last night. Werent all the home games in HD while the road games were standard def??

When did it change? Tonights game in San Antonio is HD as well.

Im not complaining, just wandering when this changed??

I didn't notice last night's game in HD but that's great if they are now. Last night definitely didn't look as good as the feed from home games look though.

I have League Pass from Comcast and although this game says it's in HD, it sure doesn't look like it. Does anyone else have Comcast league pass? I'm getting this game on channel 440.

I have DirecTV. Comcast CA is broadcasting it in HD like dude said above.

Down here in the south, Direct TV, watch on 698-1 in HD Comcast sports. Didn't even check NBA TV. Sometimes home game is std def but most away games HD. I think it is an expense issue. HD just costs more to broadcast.

I think I just have a sucky Comcast connection. The screen was in HD format, but it was so blurry that I can't tell the difference between Noc and Beno!

How in the hell did you people watch television before you had HDTV? You remind me of the people who constantly ask me in disbelief why I don't have a cellular phone.

My current favorite variation: "You work for a phone company; what do you mean you don't have a cell phone?"

Hey, you're talking to someone who remembers when TV was only black and white on a big tube that often had lines rolling up and down on it half the time. :D

But it was free.

Now that I pay through the nose for this stuff, I'd like it to actually work.

Eh, I just get the sense that a lot of people misinterpret "not available" as "doesn't work." I seem to have that conversation thirty times a day. E.g., some miscellaneous football game isn't available on Fox in HD on our cable package, due to the copyright owner not authorizing the HD broadcast to be made available to us. So, of course the customer calls in and screams about how their service "doesn't work."

Do you work for Comcast?

I don't know if I'm supposed to get this game in HD or not. It says HD, the format is HD, and I pay for HD channels, but if Comcast Sports Net doesn't let NBA League Pass broadcast in HD, then I guess that's why it's blurry. Other people were saying they got HD so that's why I was wondering.

I work for Verizon; pardon my French, but I know dick about your service. I was just venting on a personal pet peeve.

EDIT - I also hate the sales weasels who promise the customers pie in the sky, and then pawn them off on tech support to try and explain why they can't get "every movie that Verizon lists in On Demand" just because they ordered the epix package.

I'll see your no cell phone and raise you dial-up...

:p

The away games aren't in HD...they're just in 16x9 widescreen mode but not as defined resolution.

That would be incorrect. The away games are on channel 698-1 and it is clearly HD not stretcho vision. Normally the away games are only on channel 698, but for some reason, last weeks away games were also on 698-1, which is reserved for the HD games.

Plus the bottom of the screen says HD.
I can tell the difference between the 2.

Keep in mind, I have direct TV, and on 698 is good old standard def, so you may be watching standard def, but it is also being broadcast in HD, at least last weeks away games were.

It also depends on your provider and what they are actually providing. I am speaking only about direct tv.
