ASW: Arena negotiations Day 2 Meeting

The Maloofs, NBA and the city are set to meet at 12 pm PST. Some notes from the day thus far:

Speaking in the lobby of Disney's Waldorf Astoria, George Maloof talked to News10's Bryan May.

"We just got the deal four days ago," he said. "It's hard to put something together with a 4 day notice."

On Kings arena situation, source says Joe and Gavin Maloof are on board in doing what they need to do to make a deal happen. As for George?

It's no secret he's been against the team staying, and that dynamic remains relevant. Part of today is the city trying to convince him.

If it's 2 against 1, why is this even an issue? It's not like George has been some kind of business guru over the past decade.

Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson sounding very optimistic about chances of keeping the Kings, but admits emotion is not based on actual info.

Mayor KJ says a deal today as part of meetibgs with Stern, Maloofs and AEG "probably not as likely." But: "i'm rather excited."

The NBA has been negotiating on behalf of the Maloofs. One article I read said that if the Maloofs turned down what the NBA had negotiated that they would get a lot of pressure to sell. That makes sense to me.
