Too bad you don't have an option for all 3 of the last answers together - so I chose the last one. ;)

I like the Giants and A's better than any other team because they are local. I don't particularly care for either one enough to watch any baseball on TV. I think the Giants have more recognition/prevalence over the years, but they also had BB, whom I really didn't care for. I like the A's because of the River Cats affiliation, so maybe you should have included them as an option. I would have chosen the River Cats over any other answer....

I like both. When I have to choose, I prefer the Giants over the A's. That means the only time one of my favorite teams has won a World Series since I've been paying attention I was rooting for the other team. :|

I checked both because I attend games in both parks and root for both. But on those occasions when they play each other, like that night in October of '89, when I sat at the Stick so miserably watching them lose the series to the A's.......I root for the Giants!

Still have that "Bay Bridge Series" Hat too!!!

Giants.

I used to HATE the A's back in the late 80's and early 90's but they have grown on me since their AAA team came to Sacramento. They are also like an underdog type team which I usually like.

So in short..

I don't see any reason you can't like both teams since they are in different leagues which only recently began playing each other outside of the World Series. I grew up favoring the A's but I shifted to the Giants as I began to appreciate the intricacies of the National League. My true loyalty lies with the Red Sox, so in order Sox-Giants-A's.

When I was a kid I was definitely a Giants fan. Hated the A's too and was pretty bummed when the Giants lost the battle of the bay.... fortunately, "Red October" wasn't too long after and I got to see the A's go down in embarrassing fashion to Chris Sabo & Co. Good times.

These days however, I hardly follow baseball at all -- maybe a few World Series or playoff games if they're particularly dramatic. And I root for both the A's AND the Giants. Kinda weird considering that I really didn't like them before...

I was a big baseball fan growing up, playing the sport, watching it, checking daily box scores, etc. With all the bickering, strikes, and illegal supplement problems I've soured on the sport a lot. Plus, the truth is the Sacramento area could have gotten the Oakland A's (or other MLB franchise) in recent years if they had ever build a stadium. I enjoy watching the River Cats once in a blue moon summer night, but it's also frustration of what could have been.

I sold my huge baseball card collection (plus football and basketball) from the late 50's, 60's and early 70's at card shows and on eBay until they were on gone by around 2000. Many of the cards had lots of youth sentimental value, but that diminished with all the negative issues surrounding the game.

I haven't been to see the A's or Giants since the early 90's after going to lots of games every year for decades. I doubt I'll ever see an "Oakland A's" contest again especially relocating to Fremont. Maybe one day I'll be motivated to take in a game at the new SF Giants park since I've admiringly driven past it several times since it opened.

I'm a Giants fan, am NOT a fan of the prices at AT&T park! I usually catch the Giants when they play their interleague games in Oakland. Then I can pay affordable prices to see them play the A's from the bleachers! Either way, I enjoy going to either teams' games. Especially since my wife is a Mariners, and being close to Oakland, we get to see them play the A's at least once a year!
