Arena Vote

Grant Napear is predicting 8-1 final vote to accept. At worse he says 7-2 with 9-0 a nice but probably remote possibility. GO SACRAMENTO!

Is this "opposition" time to speak or something? Dang.. These people are so uninformed, I have to mute it.

Gary, they ARE AFRAID OF CHANGE. CHANGE IS GOOD BUILDING SOMETHING NEW. I was reading and some people in Seattle wanted to remodel the key arena even though Stern said he wants a new arena! Sorry about caps. They arent informed about what is going on but if you notice, they are afraid!!!

people do have a point, schools are closing jobs are closing and the city is spending 225 million on a arena? that can go to schools.yeah the city will be making 7 million a year from the arena but still, we got to make sure our children have the best education and learning tools available.

that argument is such a load of crock

Anytime someone disagrees with something in the political world the status quo is to "think of the children!!!"

Do you or anyone else honestly believes that $ will go to the schools if it doesnt go to X?

It has been proven time and time again that whenever something is rejected in the political world in an effort to think of the children, the good old jolly public schools still keep on getting ****tier and funding is still misappropriated.

So, Sacramento has been "thinking of the children" for nearly a decade already by not building an arena and look at how that's turned out...."thinking" of the children once again.

This argument assumes the parking spaces are worth $225 million if no downtown arena is built. Well, there are not. I'm sure they are worth significantly less. So the city would be taking a significant hit on the value of the parking space and using that to make a one time investment into schools. And the general fund? What exactly would you use to replace it with?
